Crossing the finish line wasn't the only exciting thing that happened at - one of our pacers, Brad, proposed to his now fiancée, Sarah! 💍

Brad shared, "The first time Sarah, my fiancé and I, spent time with each other outside of our church meetings (where we met) was cheering on our friends at the AthHalf last year in 2023. I went out to cheer on my friends, hoping and praying that I might run into her, but happy with any outcome. Cheering on each other in training and races (particularly at Twilight), was also part of the soil for our relationship to grow, and as I saw her passionate, supportive, others-centered and humble heart, I knew more and more she was the one for me. With AthHalf 2024 falling on her birthday this year, and the potential for a fun element of surprise, and with me already having wanted to be a pacer, the plan was made for our friends to fight their way to meet us near the finish line, to join with whoever finished right with me in my pace group. It worked!"

Congratulations to Brad and Sarah and thank you for including AthHalf in this memorable experience! ❤️

It's ! Congratulations to our Top Fundraiser, Kelly Sherman! Kelly raised $225 for Athfest Educates, which advances high-quality music and arts education for local Athens-Clarke County youth. Kelly has received free registration for and a free night stay at the Holiday Inn Express-Athens. Congrats again!
