This amazing couple traveled to Paris, France 🇫🇷 and Brussels, Belgium 🇧🇪 to celebrate a birthday and enjoy a kid-free getaway.

Some of their favorite experiences included a dinner cruise on the Seine River in Paris and a beer and chocolate tour in Brussels. They also said that, even though guided tours aren't usually their thing, they were pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoyed them!

Summer always seems to fly by.

It feels like school just let out, and now we're already talking about back-to-school shopping, sports, dance, and everyone's calendars filling back up.

I once heard someone say, "You only get about 18 summers with your kids." I don't know if the number is exactly right, but the message definitely is.

They grow up so much faster than we realize.

That's one of the reasons I believe so much in travel. It's not about taking the most expensive vacation or checking countries off a list. It's about making memories while we still have the chance.

Years from now, I don't think our kids will remember what was on the to-do list. They'll remember the road trips, the beach days, the cruises, exploring somewhere new, and the time we spent together.

Life is always going to be busy, and there will probably never be a "perfect" time to take the trip. Sometimes you just have to decide the memories are worth making.

Travel Myth: "I need to wait until everything is perfect before I take the trip."

The truth is, there will almost always be a reason to wait.

Work is busy. The kids have activities. Something in the house needs repaired. Prices are higher than you'd like. Life keeps happening.

I'm not suggesting anyone spend money they don't have or ignore their responsibilities. But I've learned that if you wait for the perfect time, you may be waiting forever.

Some of the best trips I've taken—and helped clients take—happened because they decided the memories were worth making, even when life wasn't perfectly lined up.

There will always be another reason to put it off. There won't always be another opportunity.
