It shore is a great day to visit Buffalo! 😎🌊

This morning, we welcomed the first 130 American Cruise Lines passengers as they stepped off the ship to experience Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

The day kicked off with a special celebration featuring a performance by The Daughters of Creative Sound, an all-female African American drum and percussion ensemble based in Buffalo, commemorative Buffalo-themed patches for each passenger, and a warm welcome from our team! 🦬

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this exciting occasion, including our local media partners and Sally Davis Berry, Executive Director of the Cruise the Great Lakes consortium.

Look what just cruised into Buffalo! 🚢👀

The American Patriot, the first Great Lakes cruise ship to visit Buffalo in decades, officially arrived at Erie Basin Marina today, marking an exciting new chapter for our city and waterfront.

Beginning tomorrow, passengers will step off the ship and experience Buffalo’s world-class architecture, arts and culture, culinary scene, and nearby Niagara Falls firsthand.

Thank you to the Governor’s Office, Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the ship’s captain for including Visit Buffalo in today’s press conference.

This arrival represents more than a cruise stop. It’s another sign of Buffalo’s continued momentum and growing role as a destination along the Great Lakes.

Big things are on the horizon for Buffalo’s waterfront! 🚢

Governor Kathy Hochul recently unveiled renderings for a future cruise ship terminal on Buffalo’s Outer Harbor, marking an exciting step forward for the city’s waterfront and tourism economy.

The planned terminal at the Slip 2 parcel on Fuhrmann Boulevard represents more than a new facility. It creates new opportunities for Buffalo to strengthen its connection to Great Lakes cruising and welcome even more visitors to experience everything our destination has to offer.

The excitement starts even sooner. This week, Buffalo officially re-enters the cruise industry as the city welcomes its first cruise ship in decades at a temporary docking site near Erie Basin Marina.

There’s a lot to look forward to in Buffalo, and we’re excited to see what’s next. ⚓

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

At the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, 7,300 flags once again blanket the grounds as part of a powerful annual installation. Each flag represents the average number of U.S. veterans lost to PTSD each year, creating a meaningful tribute that honors service, sacrifice, and the lasting impact of military service.

Thank you to the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, The Battle Within Foundation & Memorial, and the many volunteers who helped bring this installation to life.

As you spend time with family and friends this weekend, we encourage you to take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember those who gave everything in service to our country.

This win? Truly Next Level 🎉

Congratulations to Chef Darian Bryan () of Bratt’s Hill on winning Season 5 of Next Level Chef!

Throughout the competition, Darian represented Buffalo on a national stage with creativity, heart, and incredible talent, pairing vibrant Jamaican cuisine with an inspiring personal story.

Along with the title, Darian earned a $250,000 prize and a yearlong mentorship from judges Gordon Ramsay, Richard Blais, and Nyesha Arrington. 👏

Darian’s journey from Jamaica to Buffalo, and now to national champion, makes this accomplishment even more special. We’re proud to celebrate this well-deserved achievement and excited to see what’s next for Darian and his wife, Jessica Bryan, including the opening of their new restaurant, Reserve Steakhouse, later this year! 🦬

Three days, dozens of stories, and a whole lot of Buffalo momentum! 🦬

Last week, we welcomed our PR partners from Lou Hammond Group for an immersive visit across Buffalo and Erie County, highlighting the people, places, and projects helping shape our destination.

Throughout their visit, the group experienced Buffalo’s architecture, arts and culture scene, waterfront development, culinary offerings, and neighborhood revitalization efforts firsthand.

A major highlight of the week was our first-ever media relations roundtable, which brought together more than 30 tourism and hospitality partners from across Erie County to share ideas, stories, and opportunities for future national media coverage.

In just the first year of our partnership, Lou Hammond Group has helped generate significant national media attention for our region, introducing new audiences to everything Buffalo and Erie County have to offer.

Thank you to all of our partners who helped bring Buffalo’s story to life throughout the visit! 👏
