✨Meet Taryn✨ She is one of our adjunct instructors for the BAS Organizational Leadership program. We asked her why she likes being part of our UW program and here are her thoughts:
🎓 "My favorite assignment is the weekly discussion posts. Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to watch students open up, become more vulnerable, and share both their strengths and areas for growth. These discussions create a space where students connect through encouragement, advice, and shared experiences. Seeing that level of authenticity and interaction demonstrates the strong foundation of trust and community being built within the course."
🎓 "I enjoy asking my students what kind of leader they aspire to be. This question provides valuable insight into their motivations for joining the program and helps me better understand their goals. It also encourages self-reflection, allowing students to begin shaping their leadership identity as they move through their educational journey."
🎓 "Leadership does not follow a single mold—it is diverse, evolving, and deeply personal. Each individual brings unique strengths, perspectives, and values to their leadership style. It is important to embrace those differences and intentionally develop the kind of leader you want to become."
🎓 "I have always considered myself a lifelong learner. Teaching in this program allows me to stay true to that value while contributing to the growth of others. Each semester, I find myself learning alongside my students and colleagues, gaining new perspectives and insights that continue to shape both my teaching and my own leadership journey."

💛We asked students who have gone through our Organizational Leadership program about their thoughts on it and here's what Paige had to say 🎉
❓What was one misconception you had about the online program when you first signed up?
▶️"I assumed it would feel disconnected and more like just checking boxes, with less depth overall."
❓How would you describe the online classroom experience?
▶️ "How would you describe the online classroom experience?
I was online schooled until my junior year of high school, so being a self-starter is something I already had experience with. That background has really helped me stay organized, manage modules, and keep up with my work. Discussions have always been a strong addition for engagement. Candidly, it will never fully replicate being in a physical classroom, but I do not see that as a disadvantage. As someone who works full time and is also a full-time student, this format fits exactly what I need at this stage of my life. It allows for flexibility while still holding me accountable, which ultimately comes down to doing the work."
❓What drove you to finally sign up for the program?
▶️"I have been in management and coordinating roles, and that really pushed me to pursue formal education in leadership. I wanted to build credentials and expand my knowledge so I can move into more administrative and development focused roles in the future."

✨Meet Emily Genoff✨ She is an instructor for our Organizational Leadership programs!

❓What is your favorite assignment you give to students and why?
👉 I enjoy every assignment I can give students who are interested in pursuing leadership pathways the opportunity to personally apply what they are learning. Encouraging students to think big, reflect often, and imagine themselves using their knowledge, talents and abilities allows them to shine.

❓What is your favorite or intriguing question you ask your students?
👉 One of my favorite questions to ask students is, “If you were the leader reading this proposal, what decision would you make—move forward, pause, or politely decline?” Looking at their work through a leader’s lens shifts it from just meeting a rubric to creating something that could actually matter in real‑world decision‑making.
