Hi there guys! Unfortunately I have to make the announcement I've been trying to avoid but here goes. We will NOT be doing tours during this 2025 season. We hope to be back next year in 2026, with all of us healthy & ready to go. Know that it absolutely breaks Ghost Hostess April's heart to be missing out on this season 💔😭 but sometimes the universe has other plans.

Thank you all so, so much for your support and continued grace as we work through this bumpy patch. We love this community and West Virginia and we can't wait to get back at it in 2026!

Everyone have a fantastically spooky 2025! We will miss you till next year! Stay spooky, y'all! 👻❤️👻

Hi West Virginia!

I thought I'd give a little non-spooky lesson in WV history today. Did you know...

The Mine Wars were from 1912-1921. The miners and their families were being forced to live in company housing, use a company doctor, shop at a company store, all while using company scrip (money). The company controlled pricing on all of these needs.

If the provider of the family was injured or killed (which was fairly common), the bills were still due to the company at the end of the month, but don't worry, your mom or sister could pay those bills using esau scrip (google it, I'm trying to keep this post PG lol). Things eventually came to the point where miners could take no more. So, they began striking.

The American government sided with the mine owners and brought in more armed reinforcements. This all escalated in 1921 at what is known as the Battle of Blair Mtn.. Here, our American government bombed WV miners on American soil.

Here we are over 100 years later...

If you have the time and patience this newspaper is a treasure trove of information on this topic.

Stay spooky y'all! 🖤👻🖤

Hey there all you spooky Appalachian enthusiasts!

First, let me just say thank you to the outpouring of love and support. You guys have given me so much motivation to overcome all this health junk & get back at it this fall ❤️👻 you're the absolute best!

Second, (and not nearly with as much enthusiasm) I need to address an issue that's come up with an out of state corporation. *See attached pics for business names. They have began advertising for a local ghost tour in Charleston, this is NOT Charleston Ghost Tour Company nor is it a business with roots here in WV.

I have spent countless hours on research, permits, and route planning with city officials to make CGTC a reality. We have been around since 2021. We have held tours throughout Southern WV. We've given tours at Regatta. We've hosted paranormal conventions and helped to build a strong community in paranormal tourism for West Virginia groups, individuals and businesses that share a passion for the paranormal and Appalachia. We've given back to the community every opportunity we could. We've donated to local animal shelters, flood victims, school programs and more. Your dollars spent with us go back into our local community.

All that being said, I'm asking a favor of all of you. Please, please, please do not support these tours. Including screenshots so you can recognize this as not CGTC and see for yourself that they travel around the US and are not a local company.

Thanks for your support & stay spooky y'all!

To all of our amazing supporters and fans,

I know its been a long while since you've heard from me and I feel like today is an appropriate day to address the inquiries with it being WV Day and all...

The truth is, things have been bumpy this past year. It's been a struggle to find the confidence, inspiration, and financial resources to keep going. Having a support system in place when taking on such a venture is paramount and sadly the loss of my dear friend & business partner, Scott, has hit hard. It's challenging to find someone as big of a go-getter and cheerleader as he was. On top of that, I've been struggling with some health issues that take me down for 1-2 weeks every month. It doesn't leave a lot of time or energy to focus on business.

I'm hoping to get some answers regarding my health through a procedure in August. Hopefully, I can be back this fall to keep sharing all of Charleston's spirits & stories. In the meantime, please know I miss you all terribly. I'm trying my best to pull it together and get back at it. Until then, stay spooky y'all 👻🖤👻

All my love,

April Morgan

🌭 👀 For the West Virginia Hot Dog History Connoisseurs out there, I have done a lot of research on this and my findings are as follows:

A long time ago in the area of WV I grew up in (way before my time) there sat a small farm known as Bonham Dairy along Rt 21. Just down from this farm was a place called the Frontier Drive In Theatre.

Stay with me here.

Across from the Frontier Drive In was the 21 Stopette. It was known to be a great little place for movie goers to grab a snack and drink before or after the show.

Back to the rabbit hole.

After a lot and I mean a lot of reading and research, the 21 Stopette seems to be the orgin of the concept of putting slaw on a hot dog! They first advertised their yellow slaw topping in the 1920s. So, for all you WV Hot Dog fans out there, a tiny joint on little 'ol Rt 21 is said to have created the famous West Virginia Hot Dog!

Btw, Skeenies is said to have been the closest you could find to that original taste as they were located just right down the road. (Black Friday Skeenies Sale anyone?)

Anyways, thought someone might find that interesting 🌭🤓 Not spooky but definitely fun trivia knowledge! Happy hauntings Y'all! 👻😘

Hope y'all are out livin' your best life tonight! Happy Halloween & happy hauntings! 👻🎃👻
