🌤️ The Nor’Easter has passed, and Team Seaside is getting to work!

After several days of wind, rain, tidal flooding, and plenty of uncertainty, our team is hard at work checking on properties and making sure everything is safe and secure.

But before we move forward, we want to take a moment to say a HUGE THANK YOU to every member of our team who stepped up throughout the storm. 💙

From the team members who worked tirelessly to keep our guests and homeowners informed as conditions changed, to our cleaners who braved the elements to make sure homes were ready for arriving guests — we couldn’t be more grateful.

When tidal flooding made some properties temporarily inaccessible, our team didn't hesitate. They jumped into action, preparing additional homes and helping relocate guests so they could still have a safe, comfortable place to stay.

This weekend was the definition of a TEAM EFFORT. 💪

There were a lot of moving pieces, unexpected challenges, and long hours, but everyone came together with one goal: taking care of our guests, our homeowners, our properties, and each other.

Now, it’s time to get back to work and make sure everything is ready for brighter days ahead! ☀️

Teague made a new friend, the fish have moved in, and somebody clearly found the tropical drinks. 🐬🐶🐟🍹

🐴🌊 A HUGE round of applause for our Saltwater Cowboys! 👏

Yesterday’s South Herd Roundup was another incredible reminder of just how dedicated these men and women are to Chincoteague’s beloved ponies and the traditions of our island.

A roundup is no easy task on a normal day. It takes countless hours, hard work, teamwork, horsemanship, and a willingness to navigate some pretty challenging terrain. But to do all of that while battling the less-than-ideal conditions we’ve experienced over the last few days makes yesterday’s work even more impressive.

To our Saltwater Cowboys, THANK YOU! ❤️ Thank you for your dedication to the ponies, and for everything you do behind the scenes throughout the year.

As they head out for the North Herd Roundup today, we’re wishing every cowboy, cowgirl, and pony a safe and successful roundup!

🐎 South Herd: Tomorrow afternoon
🐎 North Herd: Saturday morning

With the wet and windy weather we’ve been experiencing, we encourage everyone planning to attend to dress for the conditions, plan accordingly, and above all else, BE SAFE! Please continue to keep an eye out for any updates or changes as we get closer.

And, of course, we’re wishing our incredible Saltwater Cowboys a safe and successful roundup! 🤠🐴 Thank you for everything you do to care for Chincoteague’s beloved ponies and carry on this treasured island tradition.

🌧️ POV: A nor’easter rolls through Chincoteague Island… 🌊

Mother Nature has spared us once again. 🙏 While the wind is blowing and the rain is falling, we’re thankfully only seeing some gusty conditions and light rain around the island.

And a little gloomy weather certainly hasn’t stopped everyone from getting out and enjoying Chincoteague. 🌧️ A few brave souls headed to the beach to witness the beauty and power of Mother Nature firsthand, while down at the marina, fishermen — and even a few dolphins 🐬 — were busy catching their fill.

Boats on the water, fishing lines cast, families anchored up on the sandbars, and everyone soaking in another beautiful day on the island. 💙
