Kenai Riverdog Kenai Riverdog is a small, personalized rafting company offering custom trips and adventure photography in the beautiful town of Cooper Landing, Alaska.

Owner and operator, Kayce James, has spent the last 12 years of her life on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. Kenai Riverdog was born from her love for the river, and it is her attempt to instill that love for the beauty of the river into every customer that comes on her trips.

“What’s your birth plan?”

I’ll be fishing the Kenai at 38 weeks when I catch a 30 inch rainbow. The excitement sends me immediately into labor. Baby comes so fast I don’t even have time to retie my rig. Luckily Karl Malone is fishing nearby and nets the baby. I give him a high five and yell “NOTHING BUT NET!” Karl clamps the cord with a nice pair of fishing pliers and baptizes the baby right there in the Kenai. Everything is fine. Baby is healthy. Trout is released. Karl and I pose with the baby like a man holding a fish for his Tinder profile. Obviously I name the baby Karl. He grows up to be 6’9” and plays in the NBA, carrying on the Malone legacy. Honestly I don’t see why people make birth plans so complicated.
