Disney World Planning Major Overhaul of Carousel of Progress

Walt Disney World is preparing to completely reimagine the Carousel of Progress, with updates coming to every scene in the classic attraction.

Disney Imagineers have long believed that keeping iconic rides relevant means continuing to evolve them, and now, this Tomorrowland staple is set for its biggest transformation since 1994.

The overhaul will introduce all-new scenes for a modern audience.

The finale concludes the story in the distant future, taking place in a world that may be a little bit off-planet. A robot aids the family in their daily chores in a home inspired by sketches from the late John Hench for the original 1964 version of the ride’s finale.
