Parents Weekend was a Success! 💪🏽
Instead of your typical date night, my parents decided a change of scenery to the Peach State was in order (with a personal chaperone, of course)…and they made every moment count!
Day 1 started at TheKingCenter , walking through history in the heart of downtown Atlanta. With so many impactful exhibits and stories to hear, I’d describe it as powerful, grounding, and so worth the visit!
Day 2 was a complete vibe switch as we headed to Puttshack USA in Midtown for a little family-friendly competitive play. My dad was locked in on every swing, my mom was talking trash per usual, and somehow I still came in last 🥴.
After grabbing a late breakfast in Decatur, we kicked off Day 3 at Ponce City Market . A little shopping here, a little browsing there, but mostly we just enjoyed the energy of all the creatives and small businesses with their specialties.
To close out the weekend, we grabbed tickets to ‘O’ by Cirque du Soleil at Cosm Atlanta . As first timers, my parents were amazed by the visuals and the all encompassing sound…the whole experience was so exciting, they were already making plans for sporting events!
Of course, we couldn’t leave ATL without a quick drive by the Atlanta University Center (AUC) to see all of the West End enhancements over the past 2 decades.
It was quick trip, but honestly, it was one of our best yet. Til next time Atlanta!
