Since 1938, Tradewinds Charters of Depoe Bay has been the number one destination for all of your charter fishing and whale watching needs. Top of the line gear and tackle all provided, professional and friendly captains and crew, and the nicest charter fleet on the Oreg

on Coast. Bring your fishing license and something to eat, and we will take care of the rest!

5-HR bottomfishing trips for rockfish/ling cod depart daily at 7:00 AM, with the option to add crabbing. Coho Salmon fishing is open in the summer and fall, call our office for the current dates! Albacore Tuna fishing is available during July-September, as long as the water is nice and warm! Gray whales migrate during the winter/spring, however, Depoe Bay is lucky enough to have what we call "resident" whales that will feed along our coastline throughout the summer time as well. Anytime from March through September is optimal for viewing whales with the best ocean conditions! Give our office a call and we would be happy to get you out and answer any questions you may have! We are located at 118 Hwy. 101 in Depoe Bay, Oregon at the North end of the Depoe Bay bridge and just South of the only traffic light in Depoe Bay. We look forward to meeting all of you!

Salmon catching was great today with Mr Max needing only one more Keeper to Max their score. There were times they had the El Quadray going. Great Salmon Fishing for sure. Here is a great photo of Captain Brad netting 2 at a time. Now that is a true El Dublay on the landing end! We have a few openings next mid-week so get them while this non-selective season is still here.

The Bottom Fish continue to smoke our lines with mostly limits and a good catch of Lings and Cabezon to round out the trips. These Rockfish we've been getting are truly a Great Grade.

The forseeable forecast looks fantastic so lets get out there and Quit Wishin' with TW!

It was tougher Salmon Fishing today with the chop that is forming with this front moving in. The boat was rocking a little more than we like. Bait fish don't move up and down like they do from side to side so we can't mimic what bait fish normally do. Mr Max still ended with 7 Nice Keepers and a Throwback Chinook. Ocean conditions will be much better starting this Friday through our long weekend!

Kingfisher got the usual Limit of Toad Rockfish and spent the rest of the trip targeting Lingcod with some success with 4 dandies. Crabbing continues to improve with 5 Crab per angler.

We are blown off with this storm system moving in with very high winds and over 3/4 inch of rain tomorrow. That will be followed with a 10 plus foot swell Thursday. We will be back at it Friday through the long weekend with calm seas and very little wind!

See ya all Friday so we can Quit Wishin' again!!

Midweek Swell Coming

8-29-2026
Tradewinds Crew

We feel blessed to get 63 straight days on the water of close to Limits of Big Rockfish and Phenomenal Salmon Fishing. It looks like the fish will get some rest for a couple of days this coming Wednesday and Thursday. We are thankful it looks like it will be over to start back up Friday for Labor Day Weekend. The Fishing should be smokin' hot after a couple of days off.

Once again we limited all of our clients on our 5 boats with Nice Big Rockfish. There were plenty of Nice Lingcod and Cabezon over the rails also. Crabbing is getting there with 45 to 100 plus per boat and should only get better.

Our Wild Salmon Season is just around the corner starting this Tuesday with very limited spots available the following week. We could have some more spots opening up starting next Friday and will keep you posted.

Quit Wishin' and take advantage of the spots we have left before this swell comes along. The fish can feel it coming and should be gorging themselves to prepare.

Another day of just a few anglers finishing without Limits of Big Rockfish with Lingcod and Crab picking up quite a bit. There was a decent score of Lingcod and Cabezon on the filet tables today as well. Crabbing is finally getting back to what we're use to this time of year with 3.5 to 6 per share. It should only get better.

The picture above is a fine example of a Wolf Fish caught on the Outer Limits today. Some folks think they are Eels but they are actually part of the Perch family. True Eels have no pectoral fins where these specimens do. They look ferocious but are really shy and only attack other Wolf Fish. Their main diet are Crab and Urchins which give them those big teeth to crush the hard shells. They are quite interesting critters indeed.

With the Lingcod and Crabbing picking back up it's time to get out there before our equinox shows up and everything changes. Quit Wishin'!!

We got the usual Limit of Monster Rockfish today along with a bunch of Lingcod for the first time in a couple of months. Crabbing is also finally improving after a later start than normal with 4 to 6 per person today. The fishing was great today across the board with most fish a real nice size. The picture above was off the Kingfisher with early limits on Rockfish so had a little more time to get after the Lings.

The ocean conditions look great for at least another 10 days so get down here and obtain some of these quality Filets and the sweetest Crab in the ocean!

It was another couple of days of great fishing for all our boats. Limits or real close to Limits have been the Norm this summer on Crazy Big Rockfish. We also have seen a decent improvement on Lingcod and Cabezon with some nice ones caught in the last couple of days.

Ocean conditions look great for a long stretch so lets go get some more! Quit Wishin' Go Catchin'!

It's easy to book and fish at TW. Give us a call at (541) 765-2345

Another killer day with our bottom fishing boats all returning early with limits of Rockfish for our clients. Fishing continues to be spectacular and ocean conditions are beautiful. Give us a call at 541-765-2346 to set up your reservation!

Per the usual we got Limits or very close to it on all our Large Rockfish today. The trade off for not so many Lingcod mean the Rockfish are usually a Great Grade. We did get some nice Lings today but not all that many as they should start picking up as we get closer to fall.

Mr Max finished with a flurry of great action on the last day of Summer Salmon with at least one Keeper a round and 20 plus Wild Fish. If the September Salmon Season is anything like it was this Summer the Quota won't last long as we have been getting too many Wild Salmon to count. We CAN keep the Wild Ones in September!! Plus they are usually 10 to 15 pounders.

The Ocean looks great for the foreseeable future so Quit Wishin' Go Fishin with TW!!

8/15/26 Fishing Report

Out of 110 Anglers this morning nearly every client got their Limit of Big Rockfish. We were just a few fish short of Limits across the board. There was a good number of Nice Lings and Cabezon in the mix also.

We needed all of our boats for Bottom Fishing so no Salmon today. We do have some space for the last day of Summer Salmon Tuesday. It has been a phenomenal year!

Captain Caleb on the Kadaho is on fire with early limits on both his Morning and Afternoon trips. All were beauties with some nice Lings in addition.

The Ocean forecast looks great so come and get yours!

8/14/26 Fishing Report

Once again we got our early Limits of real nice Rockfish and then spent the rest of the morning targeting Lings and Cabbies. Some nice ones ended up coming over the rails with a couple of hands of Fling Lings.

Mr Max continues to deliver the Salmon with 17 yesterday and a Chinook. Todays score was 19 with 2 Nice Chinook in the mix. We have some space Monday and Tuesday for the last two days of the 1st season so come and gettem while it's still hot!

The forecast looks great with very little wind on a nice long swell of only 3 to 4 feet. Almost perfect conditions!

Quit Wishin' let’s Go Catchin' on a friendly Pacific!

We have reached our Salmon Quota for the 1st season today and it will be closing Tuesday, August 18th which will be the last opportunity to get Salmon until September 1st. We do have very limited space availble next Monday and Tuesday to go get the Smileys. It has been a great run this year with our Chinook being the best we've seen in the last 20 years.

The 2nd season in September is a dandy with being able to keep Wild Coho but it doesn' last long. You want to book those trips the 1st 2 weeks of September. Don't wait because they're filling up fast with this early closer.

Our Salmon Boat had a tougher day today on the Keepers with a great start and end of the trip with fairly long pockets in between. The Salmon are still here but just had a dry spell. Captain Brad knows where they're at again with that flurry at the end.

Early Limits of a Great Grade of Rockfish were the score today on the Bottom Fish Grounds. The Ling bite was off a bit from what its been. There were some nice Cabezon in the mix. Give us a call at 541-765-2345 or book online at www.tradewindscharters.com
