We offer whale watching excursions and deep sea fishing adventures for rockfish, crab, salmon, and tuna out of Depoe Bay, Oregon. 5-HR bottomfishing trips for rockfish/ling cod depart daily at 7:00 AM, with the option to add crabbing. Coho Salmon fishing is open in the summer and fall, call our office for the current dates! Albacore Tuna fishing is available during July-September, as long as the water is nice and warm! Gray whales migrate during the winter/spring, however, Depoe Bay is lucky enough to have what we call "resident" whales that will feed along our coastline throughout the summer time as well. Anytime from March through September is optimal for viewing whales with the best ocean conditions! Give our office a call and we would be happy to get you out and answer any questions you may have! Fishing is still good out here! The Rockfish bite remains strong, and Lingcod fishing has improved significantly. October has been treating us pretty well weather-wise, too, with some awesome conditions that have allowed us to keep getting out on the ocean and putting fish in the boat!

October is here, but we’re still getting after it! 🎣

As long as the ocean allows, we’ll continue running Bottom Fishing trips, and the fishing has been great. Most of our clients have been coming back with limits of Rockfish over the past few days, and Crabbing has been solid too.

Crabbing will be closing around the middle of the month, so if you’ve been thinking about getting out, now is the time to take advantage of it.

The Big Lingcod are starting to show their delicious cheeks again for the winter. Most folks got their Limits today on a nice variety of a Great Grade of Rockfish. We are so fortunate to have so many reefs to choose from here in Depoe Bay. Usually it's just a matter of finding the hungry neighborhood.

Our last day of Salmon for 2026 was a little tougher as there were many drive-bys. Mr Max had as many of those as Fish that stuck to the hooks. 7 Keepers. It makes it a little tougher when we have no idea where the fish are after a week of no one fishing. We are calling it a great 2026 after today for Salmon.

We just got word the ODFW has confirmed Salmon will be open for this Saturday. It was open Sunday and we got 1 fish shy of Full Limits for everyone. We have very limited spots available so come get yours! It will more than likely be the last day for 2026.

Bottom Fishing was a bit off today with the Fish scattered after our big swell yesterday. We did get close to limits of nice ones but wasn't quite what we're use to.

We are blown off Friday with a swell and high winds but should be back at it Saturday. The forecast looks good onward.

Hard to find a finer speciman of a Canary Rockfish. That is a Beautiful Fish in more ways than one! We continue to get Limits of Monster Rockfish and the Lings are swinging back in for us. The Variety of Rockfish has been tremendous as we cross over to the Fall Equinox. Lingcod is also definitely on the upswing! We have been landing double digits in Keepers on many trips lately.

Mr Max went out on our additional Salmon Opener and needed just 1 more Fish for his full Limit. We call that the Infamous Ghost Fish. Often the Fishing starts off with a Bang, then it can be difficult to get that last Fish to be able to come home early. This Saturday may be open again but no guarantees as the ODFW is meeting Wednesday to see where we are with the quota. More on that later this week.

Now that we have reached the Equinox the ocean becomes a little less predictable so come and fill up your freezers before everything changes. Right now the forecast looks great for the next 10 days! Quit Wishin' and Go Catchin' with TW while the Gettin's Good!!

Limits of 3 to 8lb Rockfish were on the docket once again today. The Variety was phenomenal as every species of Rockfish we get on near shore trips were represented. Some really nice Coopers and Canaries were in the mix pushing double digits. There were lots of real nice Lingcod and Cabezon caught also as the picture shows. It was terrific day on our incredible reefs!!

Not so much in the sand with Crabbing taking a big hit today. It wasnt great on any front today. It has been a strange year for Crabbing as it has never really produced consistently. Some days we get into the 90s with others hardly anything but females and shorts. It has been quite a roller coaster ride. Every time we think its going to be like last year with good catches we get disappointed with the unlegal variety. Pots have been full for the most part, just not the ones we're after.

As school gets back in session it's time to get great grades for our students. The grade of Rockfish has been fantastic all summer this season. For the last bunch of days the Bottom Fishing remains great with Limits across the board on 3 to 6 lb Fat Rockfish. They have all been in tremendous shape.

There have been plenty of Lings and Cabbies as well. We were getting into the double digits this past weekend but it has slowed a bit the last couple of days. There have been some 30 plus inchers in the mix indicating the big spawners are starting to move back in for the winter.

Crabbing continues to improve with 40 to 90 per boat as they are getting out of their molting cycle and firming up nicely.

The extended forecast looks great so come and gettem before we get hit with the Equinox unpredictability. Quit Wishin' with TW!!

We just got word our 2nd Salmon Season is closing this coming Saturday September 12th. It sure has been a great year and the Non Selective Season did not dissapoint. The early closure comes as no surprise as it has been a Whack Show since we can keep the Wilds also.

Hopefully this season proves that Salmon are strong and it should continue to improve. It has been our best year for 5 plus years on Coho and we haven't seen a Chinook catch like this year for at least 20 years. Definite positive signs for the Smileys!

Mr Max was on another Tricecta today and got all of his Salmon with a 20plus lb. Nookie. Then got all their Rockfish and were in 2 hours early.

Kingfisher and Kadaho got all their Toad Rockfish early and then went after Lings with some success. Yesterday was better on the Ling end with the boats averaging almost 1 per person. The Big Lings are starting to show back up in our shallower waters and should continue to improve.

Mr Max got in a half hour early with a limit of 28 Salmon that were all Fatties. This is time of year they really start bulking up for their run up the rivers. Mega High Omega Fat content in these beauties! We have some spots available next week so come and get yours before the quota gets taken.

The Rockfish catch continues to be outstanding also with plenty of Lings and Cabezon On. These have been fatties also for the last month. Great Grades!

Mr Max has been whackin the Salmon this Holiday Weekend! Super close to Limits on all their trips with a great grade of Smileys!

We continue to pound the Rockfish with some real nice sizers. Lingcod is improving also with many hitting the filet tables.
