5-HR bottomfishing trips for rockfish/ling cod depart daily at 7:00 AM, with the option to add crabbing. Coho Salmon fishing is open in the summer and fall, call our office for the current dates! Albacore Tuna fishing is available during July-September, as long as the water is nice and warm! Gray whales migrate during the winter/spring, however, Depoe Bay is lucky enough to have what we call "resident" whales that will feed along our coastline throughout the summer time as well. Anytime from March through September is optimal for viewing whales with the best ocean conditions! Give our office a call and we would be happy to get you out and answer any questions you may have! Great day of fishing today with one of our boats getting full limits of everything we can catch on a bottom fishing trip. The other got all of a nice grade of Rockfish and fell just short on their Lings. Many of the Lings were of the 30 plus inch variety.

Crabbing is improving with 4 per Crabber. It should only get better with most of the commercial pots out of the way now.

Unfortunately the forecast for tomorrow has blown up on us again for a Saturday. NOAA is calling for a 7 to 9 foot tight, confused swell with gusts up to 20. It's funny how that works but Sunday on looks really good.

Easter Sunday Fishing Report

We were just a few Rockfish short of Limits on the 3 boats we had out today. It was real productive on the Ling end also with an average of 1.3 per rod with many in the 30 plus inch class. The picture above is Birthday Boy Jason who was soooo happy with his catch on Kadaho Sportfishing ! Happy happy Birthday Jason! Kids like you make us real happy also.

The extended forecast looks pretty solid with next Saturday of course looking on the line. It's amazing how we will have a nice ocean all week then Saturday blows up on us with Sunday nice again. It was that way this last week also. It can always change when its that far out. We have open spots all this week so let's Go Fishin' and Quit Wishin'!

Friendly Reminder: Halibut season is fast approaching and we are offering more of an exclusive trip for our clients. We are doing lighter load trips with a maximum of 12 folks on our 50 footers which are also really fast! We're using all electric reels which makes it much more effective. Less tangles with more drifts. You get 2 Halibut this year plus you can keep the Lingcod and Rockfish. We're talking a reel meat run! It doesn't get any better when everyone is able to fish at those depths with FAR less tangles.

4/17/25 Fishing Report

Today was a frenzied day on the Rockfish but the Ling catch was down. The Rockfish were biting like flees but the Lings were finicky. We made up for it with a really nice grade of Toothless critters with 2 fish short of a limit for all. They were all what we like to call Jurassic on the Suspended Fish end.

Crabbing is slowly getting better with 3 a round on one boat and 1.5 on the other. Sometimes one pot is stuffed and the ones right next to it are blanks but a solid average across the board. The crabbing should start really picking up as the Commercial Pots are dwindling quickly.

The extended forecast looks pretty darn solid through Saturday the 26th so Quit Wishin' and Let's Go Fishin'!!

Another spectacular day of fishing for us at Tradewinds. We got all of our Rockfish and real close to our Lingcod limits. Over half of the Lings were qualified as Codzillas. There were some really nice fish caught today. A handful over 40 inches. Super nice clean fish.

We’re gonna give them a rest through Tuesday as our Spring swell is back tomorrow. It's suppose to go from 4.8 feet tonight at 11pm to over 11 feet by 11am tomorrow. This is coming off under a 3 foot swell today. Shows you how quickly the ocean can change even with little or no wind. Always respect the ocean and never turn your back to her!! Quit Wishin’!

A few Lingcod short of Limits for All

Another fantastic day of fishing for us. Limits of Rockfish and just a few lingcod short of limits for all of our clients. The ocean is as nice as it gets along with the sunshine.

Tomorrow should bring more of the same with a tiny swell and little windage. We have a few spots left on our afternoon trip tomorrow so get it while it's good. Sunday will bring a much bigger swell through at least Tuesday.

Early Limits on Rockfish

We got early limits of Rockfish and finished our trips with about 1 Lingcod per fisherfolks today. The ocean was a little cranky so it was tough staying on the bottom for the Lings.

We have a string of nice weather and ocean conditions through this Saturday so it will be a good time to get down here and hammer on some fish!
