We offer whale watching excursions and deep sea fishing adventures for rockfish, crab, salmon, and tuna out of Depoe Bay, Oregon. 5-HR bottomfishing trips for rockfish/ling cod depart daily at 7:00 AM, with the option to add crabbing. Coho Salmon fishing is open in the summer and fall, call our office for the current dates! Albacore Tuna fishing is available during July-September, as long as the water is nice and warm! Gray whales migrate during the winter/spring, however, Depoe Bay is lucky enough to have what we call "resident" whales that will feed along our coastline throughout the summer time as well. Anytime from March through September is optimal for viewing whales with the best ocean conditions! Give our office a call and we would be happy to get you out and answer any questions you may have! 🎣 Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Tradewinds Charters in beautiful Depoe Bay!

Our entire fleet headed out on 5-hour bottom fishing trips today, and the results were a bit mixed. Some boats found fishing to be spotty and challenging, while others were able to put together a decent catch, with most anglers bringing home their Rockfish limits. We also saw several very nice Lingcod hit the docks today.
After a few days of rough ocean conditions, it’s not uncommon for fish to become a little more elusive and picky. The good news is that the ocean has settled down, and we expect fishing to return to more normal patterns over the next few days.
A special shoutout to all the dads who spent their Father’s Day making memories on the water with family and friends. Thank you for choosing to celebrate with us!

🎣 Tradewinds Charters Fishing Report

The last few days have brought more of the same great fishing out of Depoe Bay! Rockfish action continues to be steady, with anglers bringing home nice catches, and Lingcod are continuing to hit the dock as well.

We currently have openings on our 5-hour bottom fishing trips over the next two days. Trips are available with or without crabbing, and we’re happy to report that the crab catch is definitely showing signs of improvement.

Ocean conditions for Friday and Saturday are currently on watch, and we’re hoping things will settle down a bit. Looking ahead, conditions from Sunday onward are shaping up to be much more favorable, and we’re excited for what should be some great days on the water.

Tradewinds Charters had four boats on the water today, and fishing was more of the same with excellent Rockfish action continuing out of Depoe Bay. Most anglers came in with limits or close to limits of quality Rockfish.

Lingcod fishing remains a bit hit-or-miss, but we continue to pick away at them, with a few more Lingcod making their way to the docks today, including a nice Greenling.

The ocean forecast is looking absolutely gorgeous for tomorrow and the upcoming days, providing fantastic conditions for our 5-hour bottom fishing trips. We still have space available, so now is a great time to get out on the water.

The last three days have produced mixed fishing results out of Depoe Bay, but overall the Rockfish bite has remained decent. Today was the best day of the stretch, with several Tradewinds clients scoring early limits of quality Rockfish.

Lingcod continue to be a bit elusive, but we’re still picking away at them, and some nice Lingcod are making their way back to the Tradewinds docks.

The forecast is calling for phenomenal ocean conditions over the next several days, and we have space available on our 5-hour bottom fishing trips.

Another fantastic day on the water for the Tradewinds fleet! All five boats headed out today and returned with excellent results. Several boats scored early limits of Rockfish, and nearly all of our anglers limited out on Rockfish by the end of the trip.

Lingcod fishing remains a bit spotty, but we still saw several nice Lingcod hit the Tradewinds dock today, giving a few lucky anglers an extra bonus to take home.

Ocean conditions are looking unfavorable for Monday and Tuesday, but we’ll be back on the water Wednesday with calmer seas and sunny skies in the forecast.

The fishing remains red hot out of Depoe Bay! Tradewinds clients once again limited out on Rockfish today, enjoying steady action throughout the trip. While the Lingcod fishing has slowed down a bit, we still managed to land a nice one today, pictured below!
