Durango's first-ever MAVWA Fiber Arts Festival was held on October 3 and 4 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center!

The weekend brought together fiber artists, makers, vendors, and visitors to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and the fiber arts in Southwest Colorado. From handmade goods and demonstrations to colorful displays and community connections, it was exciting to see a new festival come to life in Durango.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Mountain and Valley Fiber Arts Festival such a special weekend! We can’t wait to see how it grows in the years ahead!

Balloons in the sky, hot spring pools below.

The 2026 Animas Valley Balloon Rally returns to Durango October 16-18, filling the Animas Valley with colorful hot air balloons, morning ascensions and a weekend of fall festivities.

And one of the best places to enjoy the view? Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa.

Relax in the warm mineral pools while watching balloons drift across the Animas Valley - a pretty perfect pairing for a crisp October morning.

On Saturday, September 26, Native American youth came together for Representation on Deck, a free skateboarding class hosted at The Hive DGO and the Durango Skatepark.

The event created a welcoming space for kids to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect through skateboarding.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this day possible and to all the young skaters who showed up and gave it a try!
