Callaway County is a perfect getaway destination in the rolling green hills of Central Missouri. The vibrant county seat - and home of two colleges - Fulton is located just 4 miles south of I-70 on Hwy 54. The state capitol, Jefferson City, is 20 minutes south. Hermann is 45 minutes southeast. Awaken to Fulton’s rich history with exciting sounds and sights wrapped in the warmth of small-town charm

, such as 67 buildings listed on the historic register. The downtown "Brick District" features brick streets and vintage architecture that houses locally-owned shops, restaurants and art venues, including the 1920's theatre at the Brick District Playhouse. Marvel at the impressive collection of historic automobiles from every decade of the 20th Century at Backer Auto World Museum. Connect modern issues to world history at America's National Churchill Museum. This 4-million-dollar museum inside a 17th-century Wren church from London explores the life and legacy of Winston Churchill, his famous "Iron Curtain" speech and the aftermath of the Cold War. Walk through the largest section of the Berlin Wall to be found outside of Germany. Countywide attractions include Crane's Country Store in Williamsburg. The Missouri Firefighters Memorial in Kingdom City. Millersburg’s Green Meadows Barn Company crafts Missouri barn wood into fine furniture, while nearby Serenity Valley Winery offers tastings and events year ‘round. Holts Summit is known for Rooster Creek quilt shop, special events and Canterbury Hill’s bluff top wining and dining. The Katy Trail State Park offers the rare opportunity to ride horseback on the section that runs through Tebbetts, Mokane and Portland. Annual Festivals & Events: Morels & Microbrews in May; Callaway County Mutton Trail events include the Fulton Street Fair in June; the Mokane “World’s Fair” over Labor Day; Tebbetts' Mutton Fest in September; and the Calwood Mutton Dinner in October. Holiday events abound in November & December.
