This Saturday, join the rare opportunity to cross Cochrane Dam!

Cochrane Dam is open this Saturday, June 6 for crossing in celebration of National Trails Day!

The dam will be accessible 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Popular starting locations to reach Cochrane Dam:

South Shore

-Lewis and Clark Overlook 0.5 miles paved trail and 3.0 miles natural surface trail.

North Shore

-Rainbow Trailhead 2.5 miles gravel service road or 3.7 miles natural surface trail.
-Ryan Trailhead 3.0 miles natural surface trail.

Participants should expect at least a five-mile strenuous hike or ride and be prepared with proper footwear, sunscreen and plenty of drinking water for participants and pets, since there is no access to water on the route. Bikes must be walked across the dam, and pets must be on a leash or under voice control on the trail system.
