Gladden Travel spent Christmas on Carnival Cruise Line carnival_legend. The carved watermelon art was fantastic along with all the other Christmas decorations.

Melissa is now a SLOW MOVING CAT 4 hurricane that will ruin the Island Nation with storm surge, wind damage, catastrophic flooding, and landslides

I have been to Jamaica twice. It is a beautiful country but also a very poor one. Many people there have no way to evacuate and this is NOT a ‘ride it out’ storm

I have also been inside a CAT 3 at landfall and it was the longest, scariest night of my life

Today we visited the “Olympia cruise port". Katakolon is a sleepy little Greek seaside town and fishing village that serves as the closest port to the ancient site of Olympia where the original Olympics were held.

Καλημέρα (Greek Good Morning)
We woke up in Athens this morning.
However, there is an Uber/Taxi strike for the entire city. Europe is famous for this so you must be ready to pivot. We will be experiencing a first for us and stay on ship at this port. We’ve been to Athens before so we did not book an excursion with the ship. With the strike, there is too much risk missing transportation, so we’ll just stay on board and enjoy the ship today. Your excursion is only protected if you book with the cruise line you are sailing.
