A little page from my reading notebook 📝

Sometimes you don’t always need the full review, you just need a little inspiration for the TBR!

Looking forward to sharing my thoughts on the newest ARC project, a debut from laurabensick!

The Unknown — Riley Sager
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Riley Sager will probably always be an auto-buy author for me. His earlier novels—Home Before Dark, Lock Every Door, and Survive the Night—are some of the reasons I love a good thriller. But lately? His newer releases just haven’t quite lived up to those favorites.

The Unknown was a slow burn, with plenty of time spent developing the characters and building the mystery. The story definitely picked up over the last 100 pages, but I felt like the ending was rushed after such a lengthy buildup! The characters even had dialogue addressing the predictable storyline, which was sort of funny!

But can we talk about Daisy?! I need an ENTIRE book dedicated to her. There’s so much more I want to know!

Final Word: Overall, of course, I enjoyed the story, as I always do with a Sager read, but I was left wanting more!

Question for you ➡️➡️

Have you ever loved an author’s earlier books so much that you keep chasing that same feeling with every new release? Or am I the only one?

Second Question ➡️➡️

Do you enjoy a supernatural element or do you prefer your thriller to be more realistic?

A little unboxing sneak peek of some ‘goods’ we are adding in for a few upcoming pop-up shop dates!

Any guesses what we’re planning for these? 😍

A little spooky science, a lot of learning snuck in there, too! 👻🧪

We went on a little Halloween-inspired STEM field trip with friends!

From hands-on experiments to spooky science stations, our little scientists had the best time exploring and creating!

I always say I love a well-played theme and they understood the assignment! A big thank you to LabSpace Robotics for making learning such a fun adventure!

I’ve wanted to do this for a while now with Artkive and figured it will make a perfect Christmas gift.

I compiled his projects from baby to age 3. I will make a future book for the preschool projects. I cannot wait to receive his finished book. He loves reading, so what a fun way to read your own work!

Are you a “straight to the trash, no clutter family” or a “art is my primary home decor” family?

What do you keep for your kids?

ISSUE NO. 03 | GATHERINGS 🥂

Because the best part of a good story might just be who you share it with.

Books bring us together. But creativity, conversation, and shared experiences are what keep us connected.

Welcome to GATHERINGS — where Wild + Wise Reads comes to life beyond the pages.

LOCAL | IN-PERSON EXPERIENCES

We’re creating opportunities to step away from the everyday and make room for something meaningful.

Think:
🥂 Themed girls’ nights, creative workshops, and seasonal celebrations.

📚 Book swaps, reading-inspired events, and community meetups.

💌 Our Not by the Book Club — a gathering built around connection, conversation, and trying something new. No required reading necessary!

🎨 AND, sometimes select creative learning experiences for little ones and families.

Whether you come with your best friend or arrive hoping to make a new one, the goal is the same: leave feeling connected.

VIRTUAL | BEYOND OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

You don’t have to live nearby to be part of the story.

Our quarterly reading experiences are being designed to include virtual opportunities such as author conversations, interviews, themed discussions, and experiences that bring readers together from wherever they call home.

Because community shouldn’t end at the city limit.

You don’t have to be an avid reader. You don’t have to know anyone before you arrive.

Just come as you are.

Tell me: What would bring you out for a girls’ night — a book swap, creative workshop, themed dinner, or something completely different?

ISSUE NO. 02 | GOODS ✉️

Some stories stay with us. We believe the things we collect along our reading journey should be just as meaningful.

Welcome to GOODS — the tangible side of Wild + Wise Reads.

Thoughtfully collected. Sometimes customized. Always intentional.

COMING SOON: OUR QUARTERLY READING EXPERIENCE

A seasonal delivery designed to make reading more interactive, reflective, and connected.

Each full reading experience is planned around five elements:

01 | THE BOOK 📖
A hand-selected read, with a special focus on mystery, suspense, and thriller genres.

02 | THE MAGNET 🧲
A collectible reading challenge magnet that turns each season into part of a growing collection.

03 | THE PROMPTS ✍🏼
Thought-provoking questions inspired by the book and by life itself. Because sometimes the best conversations begin beyond the pages.

04 | THE BOOKISH GOODS 🎁
A thoughtfully selected little something from a maker or small business, chosen to complement the experience.

05 | THE VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE 💻
An opportunity to connect through author chats, interviews, themed conversations, or deeper discussions inspired by the story.

And beyond the quarterly subscription?

You’ll discover magnetic reading challenges, magnet boards, reader-inspired accessories, seasonal gift collections, and personalized magnets for life’s memorable moments.

Our goal isn’t to collect more stuff. It’s to collect more stories, memories, and meaningful experiences.

Now tell me: Which of the five subscription elements are you most excited about? Because, I’m basically having a mini heart attack over the opportunity to meet and speak to real authors, real creators in the book world!
