As our season comes to a close, we'd like to give a HUGE shoutout to our incredible veterinary team. Vet techs, Tatiana and Hannah, alongside Dr. Millman of PAC Veterinary Services, work tirelessly throughout the season to make sure our dogs receive the care and support they need. They go above and beyond to put our Dogs First philosophy into practice every day. We are so grateful all that they do!

🐾 Meet the Musher

We couldn't complete our Meet the Musher series without giving a special shoutout to our camp manager, Gabe!

Affectionately known as "Elderwolf" by the Gold Rush crew, Gabe is more than just a musher - he's the one keeping camp running smoothly and looking out for the crew, the guests, and of course, the dogs!

When he's not managing camp or working with the dogs, you'll find him on the river as a whitewater raft guide or exploring the outdoors. He spends his winters in Moran, Montana, running dogs, wrangling, and continuing to grow his passion for mushing.

And his ultimate goal? To race in the Iditarod one day.

Until then, you'll find Gabe on the trail, on the river, or somewhere in the great outdoors.

Iditarod Nation… meet the look of Iditarod 55! 👀

This year’s design was created by our longtime partners at Alaska Serigraphics. It is raster artwork, digitally painted in Photoshop — a custom piece of artwork created specifically for the 2027 Iditarod.

And now that you’ve seen it… keep your eyes peeled. 👀

This design will soon be making its way onto all kinds of 2027 Iditarod merchandise at Iditarod Headquarters and at shopiditarod.com, beginning in October.

More merchandise announcements are coming soon!

🐾Meet the Musher

Next up...Redman!

Born in Oklahoma, Redman knew pretty quickly that the heat wasn't for him. In 2023, he headed north to Alaska to work on the Denver Glacier in Skagway, where he began his journey with Alaska Icefield Expeditions.

After his time in Skagway, Redman spent a winter in the Montana mountains, where he learned to mush from Clayton Perry. He returned to Alaska with AIE, working on the Norris glacier before making his way to Gold Rush Camp.

Now, you'll find Redman on the trail with our sled dogs, sharing his love for the Alaska outdoors with our guests.

🐾 Meet the Musher: Abigail!

Originally from Northern Utah, Abigail has spent the past several years living and working in Alaska while pursuing her passion for dog mushing.

A certified veterinary technician, Abigail has a strong commitment to the health and well-being of the dogs she works with. This past winter, she raced out of a kennel in Willow, Alaska, continuing to build her experience on the trail.

Through mushing, Abigail has had the opportunity to live and travel in some of the most beautiful and remote places - experiences made possible by the incredible dogs she works alongside. 🛷 ❄️

🐾 Next up in our Meet the Musher series is Noah!

Noah's journey with mushing began in 2021 in Big Sky, Montana, and since then, he has spent his winters on the trails, working with and learning from his canine teammates. 🛷

Noah joined our team in 2022 and has explored many different camps and roles along the way. Today, he serves as our Assistant Manager and a musher tour guide, sharing his passion for dog sledding with guests from around the world.

We're excited to have Noah as part of the Gold Rush Camp team!

🐾 Welcome to our Meet the Musher Series!
Over the next few weeks, we'll be introducing you to the incredible mushers behind our dog teams and sharing the stories, passion, and experiences that brought them to Alaska.

First up... Kara!

Growing up in Minnesota, Kara followed in the footsteps of her two older sisters and discovered her passion for dog sledding in 2015. Before long, the three sisters started their own kennel of Alaskan Huskies, True North Sled Dogs. In 2020, Kara became the sole owner and has continued raising, training, and racing her incredible team ever since.

This summer, she's sharing that passion with guests at Gold Rush camp and there's no place she'd rather be.

"Where better to run dogs than Alaska?"🐕️⛰️
