Kansas City, we have more than one Elevated Adventure ahead, and I’m excited to start sharing what we’re building for the rest of 2026.

First, Wide Open KC returns October 18. Then we have Toke’N Trick-or-Treat Tour October 29–31, Operation Elevated Gratitude on November 11, and Elevated Holiday Light Tours coming in December.

Each experience offers adults 21+ a different way to enjoy Kansas City—through local history, culture, community and thoughtfully hosted experiences.

Wide Open KC: Jazz, Power & Cannabis History is a guided streetcar and walking experience that connects Kansas City’s jazz legacy, political power, Black journalism, and cannabis history.

What to expect:

🚶🏾‍♀️ Walking and KC Streetcar travel
⏱️ Approximately two hours
🖼️ Historical stories and visuals
🔞 Guests must be 21 or older
👟 Comfortable walking shoes encouraged

The building that helped run Kansas City.

From an ordinary-looking second-floor office at 1908 Main Street, Tom Pendergast’s political machine influenced jobs, contracts, elections and the direction of Kansas City.

The same “wide-open” system associated with political corruption also allowed nightlife to flourish and helped create the environment where Kansas City jazz could develop—but wide open did not mean equally open for everyone.

That contradiction is one of the stories we’ll explore during Wide Open KC: Jazz, Power & Cannabis History.
