Congratulations to Younes Hospitality, recipient of the 2026 Celebrate Tourism Award!

Today, Visit Kearney hosted the 9th annual Celebrate Tourism Luncheon at Younes Conference Center North as part of National Travel and Tourism Week.

This year, we were proud to honor Paul Younes and the whole Younes Hospitality family for their lasting impact on Kearney’s hospitality industry and beyond. Paul accepted the award on behalf of his family and team. Community runs deep within Paul and Younes Hospitality - through their dedication to family, their care for employees, and their ongoing investment in Kearney. Their work has helped welcome visitors, support major events, strengthen our local economy, and make Kearney a better place to live, work, and visit.

As Visit Kearney Director Sarah Focke shared, “Paul Younes and his family have played a transformative role in positioning Kearney as a premier destination for meetings and events. They have truly been visionaries in shaping our community.”

A special thank you to Jenn Gjerde, the new Executive Director of Visit Nebraska, for joining us and sharing the impact of tourism across our state, along with a preview of Visit Nebraska’s new campaign: Nebraska. All Heart.

Congratulations also to Dakota Empfield from the Merryman Performing Arts Center, who received Visit Nebraska’s Outstanding Frontline Employee Award.

Tourism makes a difference here in Buffalo County, supporting 1,500+ local jobs and generating $174 million in visitor spending. We’re grateful for the people, businesses, and partners who help welcome visitors and strengthen our community!
