🛑 Heads up, Ketchum: Stop signs are changing at two intersections.

During the week of Oct. 12–16, these intersections will change from all-way stops to two-way stops:

* Leadville Avenue and Second Street
* Washington Avenue and Fifth Street

We’ve heard questions and concerns about these changes. The City reviewed traffic data, roadway conditions and established traffic engineering standards to determine the appropriate stop controls at each intersection. The changes are intended to improve safety and predictability for people driving, walking and biking.

Your usual route may have a different stop requirement. Slow down, watch for updated signs and be prepared for changes in who has the right-of-way. People walking and biking should also stay alert as drivers adjust.

What’s ahead for Ketchum? Join us at City Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 6, for the City’s Fall Open House.

Stop by to meet with city staff, ask questions and learn about:

* The Local Option Tax (LOT) ballot measure.
* Improvements planned north of town in 2027, including pedestrian and bicycle connections, safety enhancements, landscaping and public spaces.
* Proposed Land Development Code updates and what they could mean for residents, businesses and property owners.

What questions do you have about these topics? Share them in the comments, or bring them to the Open House.

Drop in anytime from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Two 15-minute presentations will begin at 4:45 and 5:45 p.m.

The Street Department will begin fog seal operations today, Tuesday, September 22.

Work will take place on:
* 6th Street from Second Avenue to Fourth Avenue
* Leadville from River Street to Jade Street

Vehicles must be moved from the affected areas by 8 a.m. Vehicles may be relocated if necessary to allow work to proceed.

The project is expected to be completed today, weather and site conditions permitting.
Please plan ahead, use caution in work areas, and follow all posted traffic-control measures. Flaggers will be on scene to assist with traffic control.

Please note: You must have your lanyard to claim and save your reserved seat. Be sure to pick it up before heading to the parade.
