Not all boat tours are the same, and a few details can completely change your day on the water. Here’s what we recommend checking before you book (and yes, these are things we prioritize at Honest Eco 😉)

1️⃣ Avoid Large Tour Groups
Smaller groups mean more space, a more personal experience, and more opportunities to actually talk with your guides instead of feeling like one person in a crowd.

2️⃣ Choose Wildlife-Friendly Tours
Wild dolphins and other marine life should be observed responsibly. Look for operators who respect the animals, their space, and the environment you’re visiting.

3️⃣ Look For A Tour with Expert Guides
Seeing something interesting is even better when there’s someone aboard who can actually tell you what you’re looking at. A knowledgeable guide can turn a wildlife sighting or snorkel into one of the most interesting parts of your trip.

4️⃣ Ask If Beginner Snorkelers Are Welcome
Never snorkeled before? That shouldn’t automatically mean sitting this one out. We welcome beginners and help guests feel comfortable before getting into the water.

5️⃣ Check Required Arrival Time
Departure time and arrival time aren’t the same! Check when you’re expected at the dock so your vacation doesn’t include accidentally watching your boat leave without you. 😅

And yes, we check all five boxes. Small groups, responsible wildlife encounters, knowledgeable guides, beginner-friendly snorkeling, and clear information before your trip.

Take the kids somewhere new. Let them see wild dolphins instead of watching them on a screen. Let them snorkel, ask questions, learn about the ocean, and have a story to tell when they get home.

And most importantly, be there doing it with them.

Day 3! Proving that a little seaweed couldn’t stop a great adventure 🌿

Mother Nature had her own plans, but so did we. 🥹

The campers spent the day exploring Higgs Beach, turning piles of sargassum into games and plenty of laughs. One of the best parts of Squid Kids Camp is watching the kids’ curiosity take over. What might look like “just seaweed” quickly became a chance to learn, imagine, and see the ocean in a whole new way.

We also got creative with arts and crafts, played a few rounds of pickleball, and, as always, there was no shortage of exploring, teamwork, and hands-on fun!

Day 3 was another reminder that every day at camp is different... and that’s exactly why we love it 💙🦑

From the moment you leave the dock in the morning until you’re heading back, the day is filled with unbelievable moments. You’ll see dolphins, snorkel vibrant reefs, sail through the beautiful Florida Keys, and experience the kind of views you simply can’t get from land!
