He created Black History Week in 1926 because our stories were being ignored and erased.
Black history didn’t start with slavery—it started with excellence, faith, and leadership.
And it doesn’t end in February.

I hate to even have to write this… but mom I know the prayers I’ve been lifting up were heard. I prayed for healing and peace — whether it came here on this side of glory or in Heaven. And now God, in His perfect timing, has answered and called you home.
You’re reunited now with Mut, Mama, Papa, and Uncle Bugga — wrapped up in a joy that this world just can’t offer. My heart hurts, but I’ve got a peace that passes understanding knowing you’re no longer in pain, no longer fighting, no longer weary.
Heaven gained a beautiful soul, even though this earth lost one of the very best. 💔
Rest easy, sweet angel. I’ll carry you with me always.
