🚨🚨Did you know Rope Drop recently changed at Disney’s California Adventure? We went to Cars Land to Rope Drop Radiator Springs Racers and this is what we learned:

🚗Rope Drop doesn’t always feel easy with young kids, but when you arrive to a theme park that isn’t crowded yet, and can knock out rides before majority of the crowds arrive, it’s worth the early morning!

🚗If you aren’t scanning into DCA until 7:40am or after, you should choose a different ride to Rope Drop. {You can now walk to each individual land at DCA and line up right in front of it}

🚗Be prepared to pivot your plan if a ride is down or something changes

🚗Rider Swap is 👌🏻 but keep in mind you can only hold one rider swap pass in the Disneyland app at a time

🚗Rope Dropping RSR gives you the flexibility to skip purchasing the Single Pass OR gives you a chance to ride it in the morning and again with Single Pass 💲

So, what did our 9-year-old think of Universal Kids Resort?

Before our visit, we made sure to set expectations. He’s used to bigger thrill rides—TRON, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Tower of Terror are some of his favorites! 😉 We told him Universal Kids Resort wouldn’t have that same level of thrills.

Even so, he had an absolute blast! His favorite experiences were Swings Del Mar, Jurassic Cretaceous Coaster, the Jurassic World playground, and Minions Bello Bay Cruise. While the park is definitely designed with younger kids in mind, he genuinely had a great time and loved the attractions we featured in this video.🦕🎢💦

One thing to know before visiting Universal Kids Resort: unlike many other theme parks, there is no “lap sitting” on attractions. Children must meet the posted height requirement and be able to sit independently, buckled into their own ride seat.

Our little guy was finally tall enough for Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After, and it ended up being one of his favorite attractions—he clapped his way through the entire ride!

Beyond the rides, he had a great time at the splash pads, the Puss in Boots puppet show, the Trolls show in the amphitheater, and, of course, the ice cream. 🍦💦

If I were planning a trip with only my 1.5-year-old, I’d probably wait until he was a bit taller to experience more of the attractions. But as the caboose of our family, he gets to come along for all the adventures—and he still had a wonderful day!

Research day at the Walt Disney World Resort! 🏰✨
