Our advisor Rob recently enjoyed an Alaskan cruise & is here today to share his experience! ⤵️

“There are some vacations where you have a few WOW moments. Then there are vacations where the WOW seems to follow you everywhere. My recent Alaska cruise aboard Norwegian Encore was definitely the latter.

From the moment we sailed into Alaska, I was continually amazed by the scenery surrounding us. Towering mountains and fjords rose above beautiful waterways, forests, and coastal beaches, creating an incredible sense of wilderness that seemed to stretch as far as I could see. It was one of those experiences that is difficult to fully capture in a photograph—you really have to be there.

One of my favorite parts of the cruise was simply finding a great place to take it all in with a pair of binoculars. Deck 8 became one of my favorite spots. Being outside, feeling the fresh air, sipping hot cocoa, and watching Alaska—including Glacier Bay National Park—unfold around the ship made even the quiet moments memorable. We watched harbor seals floating on a small piece of broken glacier. How can you top that?

The Observation Lounge was another favorite. With its panoramic views, comfortable seating, and bar, it was the perfect place to relax while still enjoying the incredible scenery. At certain times of the day, food was also available, making it easy to grab something to eat, settle in with a drink, and simply watch Alaska go by. We even watched a humpback whale surface and blow in the distance.

And that may have been my biggest takeaway from this trip: you don't always have to be doing something to experience Alaska. Sometimes the most memorable moments come from sitting quietly, looking out at the mountains and coastal beaches, spotting brown bears, and realizing just how incredible the world around you is.

As a travel advisor, experiencing Alaska firsthand gave me an even greater appreciation for what makes an Alaska cruise so special. I came home with more than photographs and memories—I came home with a better understanding of the experience I can help create for my clients.

Alaska gave me WOW moments I won't soon forget.”
