Disney released new offers this week, and while I could tell you all about percentages, eligible dates and room categories…that’s probably not what you actually care about.

What you want to know is: could the trip we talked ourselves out of actually work now?

Maybe.

And that’s where I come in.

I can look at your dates, resort options, ticket needs and the current offers to figure out what actually makes sense for your family, not just what’s technically “on sale.”

Would I eat at Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby again? 👀

Yes. But I’d order differently.

One of the newest additions to Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort, The Carnaby brings a little British pub energy, and plenty of Gordon Ramsay, to Disney.

We tried it on our recent trip, and of course I took notes. Because if I’m going to recommend a restaurant to my travel clients, I want to know what’s actually worth ordering.

It’s not just where you stay or which tickets you buy, but where you eat, what’s actually worth the splurge and what you can confidently skip.

If you think Disney is just for kids, you clearly haven’t uttered the words “Krakatoa Punch” inside a dark windowless room at 1 PM. But the real debate is: Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto vs. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. Which one takes the crown?
The Disneyland OG:
- Nestled by the Disneyland Hotel pool.
- Has that classic, cozy, mid-century retro tiki lounge intimacy.
- Pure nostalgic history.
The Disney World Contender:
- Tucked inside the Polynesian Village Resort.
- The FOMO Factor: It is notoriously tougher to get into.
- Absolute chaotic energy when the volcano blows.

Honestly, no matter how many cool places I travel to, nothing beats the feeling of driving back toward the coast and smelling the salt air.

From having our own private space just steps from the water to spending the day relaxing with incredible service and views, it completely changed the way we experienced the island.

It wasn’t about doing more, it was about enjoying every minute.

🎃 Oogie Boogie Bash vs. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Same Disney Halloween obsession. VERY different vibes.
We did opening night of Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland and my biggest takeaway?

It’s just… easier.

At Disney World, I go into Mickey’s Not-So-Scary with a PLAN. 😂 Parade time. Hocus Pocus. Fireworks. Exclusive snacks. Characters.

Oogie Boogie Bash felt more like: put on a costume, grab a treat bag and see where the night takes you. And I LOVED that.

The treat trails were easily one of my favorite parts. They’re not just places to collect candy, the villains ARE the entertainment.

Then there are the rare characters, the costumes, the atmosphere…and somehow we never felt like we were racing to the next thing.

My completely unofficial take:

🎃 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary = the Halloween spectacular.
Parades. Fireworks. Shows. Exclusive snacks. A night you want to PLAN.

👻 Oogie Boogie Bash = the Halloween hangout.
Villains. Rare characters. Treat trails. Costumes. Wandering. A little weird. A lot of fun.

Neither is “better.” They’re just surprisingly different.

And if you’ve only done Disney Halloween at Walt Disney World, don’t assume Oogie Boogie Bash is just the Disneyland version.

It absolutely has its own personality.

And apparently mine is: give me a costume, a bag of candy and a rare Disney villain and I’m good. 🎃

Maybe that’s part of why I love planning travel for other people so much. There isn’t one “right” way to travel.

You don’t have to love flying. You don’t have to ride every ride. You don’t have to eat at the fanciest restaurant or have every minute planned.

You just have to figure out what makes a trip feel like your kind of trip.

And helping people figure that out? That’s one of my favorite parts.
