Why Cool Kids’ Summer might be my new favorite time to visit Disney World! ☀️🏰
For years, I heard the same thing: “Don’t go to Disney World in the summer—the heat will ruin your trip!”
And honestly? We believed it.
Like many families, we have to plan vacations around the school calendar, which usually means spring break, Christmas, or other peak travel weeks. We’ve always tried to avoid the summer heat at all costs.
But last week, while in Orlando for a conference, my husband and I spent a few days in the parks—and we left saying, “This is exactly when we’ll bring our family next time.”
Here’s why:
✨ 1. The prices.
Y’all… the savings are real. A summer trip can cost significantly less than a spring break or Christmas vacation. Resort rates are lower, the 4-Park Magic Ticket is an incredible value, guests receive free water park admission on check-in day, and kids ages 3–9 can still receive the Disney Dining Plan FREE when adults purchase a dining plan package.
🎢 2. The crowds.
Were the parks empty? No. But compared to holiday weeks, the crowd levels felt so much more manageable. We were able to accomplish more in less time and spent far less of our day waiting in lines.
🎉 3. The vibes.
Disney has really leaned into summer fun this year with extra entertainment, special character experiences, dance parties, and interactive activities throughout the parks. The energy was fantastic, and it felt like there was something fun happening everywhere we turned.
My takeaway?
Summer might be one of Disney World’s most underrated seasons.
Yes, it’s hot. But with the right game plan, the heat is absolutely manageable—and the lower prices, lighter crowds, and extra summer experiences may make it worth it.
If you’ve been putting off a Disney vacation because of the cost of spring break or holiday travel, let’s talk. I can help you plan a trip that maximizes the magic and minimizes the stress. ✨
