Adam Zurn of Uncharted Lancaster came to Lancaster County for college in the late '90s and never left. Then a coworker mentioned a pioneer cemetery hidden somewhere in Shenks Ferry that nobody could find. He spent weeks crisscrossing the woods with his dog, turning up a 1906 dynamite-factory memorial and a 12-foot stone pillar standing in a creek along the way, and eventually found it. That hunt became Uncharted Lancaster.
We sat down with him to talk scavenger hunts through the stone tunnels of Enola, the Buzzard Gang's lost loot (3,500 pennies, supposedly still under a rock on South Mountain), and how helping return two long-missing tombstones wrote him into the history he was chasing.
