My sweet guests recently returned from their Viking cruise and they were kind enough to share these awesome photos and memories from their trip. Thank you so much, Donna and David, for sharing these and for letting me play a small role in planning your amazing adventure!
During their cruise, they were able to sail the Baltic Sea and experience wonderful destinations like Sweden, Estonia, Poland, Denmark, Germany and many spots in Norway.
I hope you will enjoy these photos. They started in beautiful Stockholm for a few days, then began their cruise.
Here are some thoughts they shared:
We had a wonderful time learning some of the history of Denmark. Took a train ride to Berlin and saw the remnants of the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, and more.
We loved the island of Bornholm, Denmark. We visited the castle ruin of Hamerheuse, visited a medieval round church and visited a sea buckthorn plantation.
Had a wonderful time in Alborg, Denmark. Learned more about the resistance during WW2. I just adore these old buildings and the fact that they are still here for us to enjoy. So much history here!
Finally made it to Norway! 🇳🇴 In Oslo, we toured city hall, Vigiland Park and the Holmenkollen Ski Jump. We also took a freezing cold boat tour in the fjords with beautiful views.
In Stavanger, Norway we went on a fun RIB boat tour of the fjord near Stavanger. 40 knots in drizzly rain. Ski googles and a thermal suit kept us warm.
Walked around Stavanger this morning. This is one of the fastest growing cities in the world due to the oil industry, but it still has old world charm.
Not to be deterred by yesterday’s freezing cold boat ride, we took another one today. But this time it was a Rib boat and they provided thermal suits, goggles and gloves. It was so much fun! 🤩
Eidjford, Norway - This picturesque little town has been my favorite stop. Population less than 1000. Waterfalls everywhere you look.
In Voringsfossen, “Aren’t these waterfalls amazing! I could have spent all day here exploring every little trail around the waterfalls.”
Last stop of the cruise: Bergen, Norway. We’ve had an incredible time. What a blessing to see these wonderful sights and meet people from so many places and hear such rich history. But we’re ready to get home to family!
I can surely understand that 😊
I want to go!! Don’t you?
