🐴✨ Fun fact about horses!

Ever wondered why horses have their eyes on the sides of their heads? 👀

It’s because horses are prey animals! Having their eyes positioned on the sides gives them a much wider field of vision, helping them spot potential predators approaching from different directions. 🌿👀

Pretty amazing, right? Their eyes are basically designed to help them stay alert and safe in the wild. 🤎🐎

Fun (or not so fun in this case) fact Friday. Horses are very sensitive to wildfire smoke and bad air. Because they are large athletes that breathe huge amounts of air—especially when moving or working out—tiny smoke particles go deep into their lungs. This causes airway swelling, coughing, and trouble breathing. In order to protect our horses we have unfortunately had to cancel or postpone many horseback rides this summer due to unhealthy air quality. This is our view of the smoke coming from “little giant” fire.

Fun Fact Friday 🐴

Gratitude ~ So thankful for these amazing, beautiful, and patient horses. They continue to give themselves and carry us on to our next adventure. They are truly a gift that I don’t think we humans will ever actually be worthy of! But that should never stop us from trying and giving them everything they truly deserve! They are the best of us!❤️❤️

Hi I’m Talloolah! Fun fact about me, I (as a Mule) navigate hills much more safely and deliberately than horses due to my donkey ancestry. Inheriting a cautious, problem-solving temperament, mules avoid slipping by pointing their hooves into the slope on their “tiptoes” for traction, rather than walking flat-footed. Watch me demonstrate that technique in the video! 🐴

🐴 Fun Hoof Fact! ✂️

Did you know a horse’s hooves never stop growing? Just like your fingernails, they need regular trims every 6–8 weeks to stay balanced and healthy. Proper hoof care helps prevent pain, improves movement, and keeps horses happy from the ground up! 🐎💚 ☀️
