This is what sets us apart. 🌿 Florida Coastal Master Naturalist and First Mate Cristina holds court on the Island Hopper, anchored right up on Kice Island in the heart of the 10,000 Islands, sharing everything the Gulf has to teach before our guests even set foot on the beach. Shell identification, ecosystem education, wildlife behavior — this is not just a boat ride. It is a full experience led by someone who truly loves this place. Come learn something amazing. 🐚

Most people walk right past this. Our naturalists never do. 🐢 Meet the Gopher Tortoise — a Florida threatened species and one of Keewaydin Island's most ancient residents. This one was too busy having breakfast to care about our tour group. Gopher Tortoises are considered a keystone species, meaning over 350 other animals depend on their burrows for shelter. Finding one out here is always a special moment and proof that the Gulf Coast ecosystem is alive and thriving. 🌿. Photo by: Capt. Evan

Not all treasure is gold. Some of it fits in the palm of your hand. 🐚 A baby Rose Murex cradled in a translucent Jingle Shell, surrounded by scallops, sand dollars and cockles fresh from the Gulf. The Rose Murex is one of the most sought after shells in Southwest Florida — that spiky pink shell with its delicate coral color is impossible to walk past. Every bag tells a story and this one is a good one. 🌊

It's nesting season in Southwest Florida and our beaches are busier than you think. 🐢🐦 Florida Master Naturalist and First Mate Veronica makes sure every guest knows what to look for before they ever step off the boat. Shore birds nest directly on the ground and their flightless chicks are incredibly vulnerable, please keep a respectful from any roped off areas and never startle a large flock. Sea turtles are federally protected, it is illegal to touch or harass them. If you spot a stranded sea turtle in the Naples or Goodland area, do not approach. Call Rookery Bay and ask for the turtle team. These beaches belong to all of us. Let's keep them that way. 🌿

SPECIAL EVENT TOMORROW — and only a few spots left! 🐚🌊 A negative low tide of -0.88 feet hits at 8:10 PM Tuesday June 16th and we are taking full advantage. Florida Coastal Master Naturalist and First Mate Cristina leads this special Negative Tide Shelling Tour deep into the 10,000 Islands out of San Marco Marina at 5:45 PM. Negative tides expose areas of the seafloor that are rarely accessible — which means shells and marine life that most people never get to see. This is as good as it gets for serious shellers. Only a few spots remaining — do not miss this one. 🐬. Booking Link below.

"The voice of the sea speaks to the soul." 🌊 Captain and Florida Coastal Master Naturalist Jamie has a gift for finding beauty in everything out here. Three perfect sand dollars, a piece of driftwood, and a message that pretty much sums up why we do this every single day. Some tides bring shells. Some bring perspective. 🐚

They showed up uninvited and completely stole the show. 🐦 Meet the Double-crested Cormorant, one of the most skilled diving birds on the Gulf coast. While our guests were busy shelling, this guy was working the shoreline hunting his own breakfast. Unlike most birds, cormorants have feathers that are not fully waterproof, so you will often spot them standing with wings spread wide to dry out after a dive. Nature is wild and we get a front row seat every single day. 🌊

Have you ever seen a cormorant up close? Drop a 🐦 below!
