Here's the story behind the bottle we found. The note inside was from Matt and Tracy, written September 3rd off the coast of Sanibel Island during a weekend getaway from North Carolina. They asked whoever found it to reach out, add their own message, and send the bottle back out on its journey. Interesting to see the way the water is moving these days and a letter from Sanibel and maybe all their shells come to us.

So that's exactly what we're going to do. Stay tuned, because this bottle isn't done traveling yet.

An anhinga putting on a show today, neck curved into that signature S-shape and beak wide open mid-call. They're sometimes called "snake birds" for that exact pose, the long neck making them look almost reptilian when they're perched like this.

Great catch by our Florida Coastal Master Naturalist Cristina, who never misses a moment like this.

The water did something today in the Ten Thousand Islands. A hard line where the shallows turn from pale green to deep navy, driftwood scattered across the shell-covered sand, and a rain cell working its way across the horizon in the distance.

It takes a little work getting out here, but that's exactly why it still looks like this. Worth every step.
