Yes, yes, we all know that my favorite ship is the MSC Seashore! So what do I do for my birthday weekend????

I book the ship! Ocean Cay...here I come!

This will be my 5th time on the Seashore and each time I board, I just get happy. AND with the recent refurbishment, I'm even more excited!

AND, since I disembark on my actual birthday (sad), my husband suggested heading to Universal for an overnight so I didn't have to travel on my birthday (yay)!

No, I don't get any of this for free as a travel advisor, BUT there are ways to save money while enjoying each part of your getaway!

I get asked A LOT, "Do you only book cruises?"

No! I book so much more. A good friend and client wanted to stay in the United States, have a great time, and stay tropical for fun anniversary trip.

Key West was the final destination and I helped get their accommodations, transportation, and activities all taken care of so all they have to do is show up and enjoy their time making memories!

We returned home early this morning from the Dominican Republic full of memories!

My family (7 of us ages 76 to 10) tried out this resort and gave it an average rating of 6 out of 10.

Online this resort is rated 5-stars but it was more aligned to a 3-star resort.

I booked two family suite rooms. They were set up slightly differently as we had a king bed and one sofa bed and chair while the other room had two double beds and a sofa bed and chair. There were problems with one room but they were quickly fixed. The rooms were clean but also had some wear and tear.

We finally realized the large-ness of the resort on our second to last day and started enjoying more activities we missed through the week.

The pool area was huge and very nice. There were two swim-up bars and floats were allowed. Lots of activities happened in the shallow side.

The beach was lovely but because Florida and the Caribbean had the massive seaweed plume and we could not go into the water nor navigate the walls of seaweed.

Food was hit or miss. Just say NO to any burger. BUT I would go back just for the Brazilian restaurant and lunch buffet!

Drinks were great and not watered down. Ice cream was lovely. Either you liked the coffee or didn’t.

The service staff was amazing! The only issue we had was with concierge and that was remedied by not going to them at all. Guest services was great fixing a reservation mistake that should have never happened.

The waterpark was nice. Lots of options for small to large kids and adults. The food was not good so we just shuttled back, or took a short walk, to the buffet.

If you have a strict budget, kids who love to be kids, aren’t super picky about food, and just want to chill…maybe this resort is for you!

Oh did we have fun!!!

We were lucky to get such a great deal and service when I booked this horseback riding beach tour!

My family likes to try to do different things and Zoe suggested doing this!

I also bought mamajuana (a DR alcohol) with our picture from the tour on it and a matching custom magnet (NOT made in China).

We made it to Grand Sirenis Punta Cana!

It was a super long day with lots of traveling, but we managed to get in a good buffet dinner and a quick night time exploration before going to bed.

Now that we are rested…we are ready to see all this all-inclusive resort has to offer!
