Nobody was ready for this photo. Not one person.

Not mentally, Not physically, Not photographically.

But after spending the day touring Icon of the Seas, taking notes, asking questions, exploring staterooms, checking out venues, and learning everything we could for our clients... this is what was left in the tank. 😂

The glamorous travel advisor photos happen occasionally.

The reality? Most of our ship tours look a lot like this.

Long days, Lots of walking, Information overload, And a camera roll full of questionable group photos.

But because of days like this, we've had clients confidently choose Icon of the Seas for their next vacation. The photo may not be perfect. The research absolutely was.

Travel advisor reality:
✔️ Four resort tours
✔️ 20,000+ steps
✔️ Sweaty
✔️ Hair giving up on life
✔️ Backpack at a luxury resort because practicality wins
✔️ Resting Business Face activated (if you get that, we are friends)

The funny thing is, this is usually when we're learning the most.

We're checking room locations.
Comparing categories.
Looking at beach access.
Checking restaurant options.
Taking notes.
Recording videos.
Asking questions.

Because someday a client is going to ask:

"Which resort would you choose?"

And I want the answer to come from experience, not a brochure.

What I got: seawitch.

🧜‍♀️ Pose gracefully in the crystal-clear Caribbean water.
🌊 Become one with the ocean.
📸 Capture the perfect Little Mermaid moment.

Reality:
Photo 1: Optimism.
Photo 2: Mild concern.
Photo 3: The ocean chooses violence.
Photo 4: Acceptance.

At some point during this photo shoot, I lost all evidence of having a waistline and became one with the waves.

The good news? I was laughing too hard to care.

The better news? These are the photos I actually treasure years later.

Not the perfect ones.

The ones where the ocean wins.

The biggest thing I’ve learned about traveling with kids? Flexibility is everything!!!!

Today’s plan was a pool day… until the kids decided they wanted to head to the theme parks instead. So off we went.

A few hours later, the “real feel” temperature was 110°, everyone was melting, two kids wanted to leave, two kids wanted to stay, and suddenly our carefully planned day looked nothing like the one we started with.

We split up, some stayed at the park, some headed back to the resort, and guess what? We ended up having that pool day after all.

I packed everyone’s clothes by day. Today wasn’t supposed to be a swim day, so our swimsuits were buried in suitcases all over the room.

Traveling with kids isn’t about sticking to the plan. And sometimes that means digging through every suitcase in the room to find swimsuits. ☀️🏊‍♀️
