One of the best parts of being a Travel Advisor is exploring parts of the world that aren't on the hot travel list.

Today, that place is Bacalar, Mexico.

Known as the "Lagoon of Seven Colors," Bacalar sits just a few hours from Cancun and Tulum, but feels like a completely different world. It's quiet, laid-back, and centered around a stunning freshwater lagoon with shades of turquoise and blue you have to see to believe.

Monday, meet your escape plan.
Somewhere right now, someone is watching the sunrise from a hilltop village they'd never heard of six months ago. Getting happily lost. Could be you.
