FREEDOM HAS ALWAYS BEEN A JOURNEY ✊🏽

Today, we honor Juneteenth—a celebration of liberation, legacy, and the continued work of reclaiming space, story, and belonging.

The Juneteenth flag carries that story forward. Its red, white, and blue affirm that formerly enslaved Black people and their descendants were—and are—American. The star nods to Texas, where freedom was announced in Galveston on June 19, 1865. The burst surrounding it represents a new beginning, while the arc reflects a new horizon.

At Black Travel Summit, we know movement is more than travel. It is visibility. It is access. It is community. It is the right to show up fully, wherever we are in the world.

Every unforgettable summit has people behind the scenes making the magic happen and the team are no different.

Our volunteers are the unsung heroes who help keep the experience moving, grounded, welcoming, and full of intention.

From year-round team support to summit-specific roles in Milwaukee this October, we’re looking for community-minded, solutions-focused people who are ready to show up, serve, connect, and help bring BTS 2026 and beyond to life.

Today we celebrate the city, the culture, the community, and the legacy that makes Milwaukee… Milwaukee. And what better day to officially begin our journey to Black Travel Summit 2026.

We’re honored to bring BTS to the city while honoring the historic Bronzeville neighborhood October 15–18, and step into our next chapter:
Renaissance: Rebirth. Renew. Reclaim.

This isn’t just about coming to Milwaukee it’s about showing up with purpose. We are INTENTIONAL about building, investing, and leaving every destination better than we found it.

From highlighting Black-owned businesses to creating real opportunities for community impact, Milwaukee, we’re coming to pour into you the way you’ve poured into culture for generations.
