This weekend is for celebrating traditions: Halloween on Saturday, Oct 31, and Día de los Mu***os on Nov 1 and 2.

Halloween brings costumes, candy, and neighborhood fun. 👻🍬 Día de los Mu***os is a beautiful time to honor and remember loved ones with ofrendas, marigolds, favorite foods, and stories. 🕯️🌼

However your family celebrates, we hope your weekend is full of joy, connection, and sweet memories. Stay safe out there, and thank you for being the community that makes Ardenwald so special. 🧡

Step right up, Ardenwald families! The Fall Fun Fair is almost here!

Ardenwald Elementary

🎨 Indoors: Crafts, games, and fun with prizes
🚗 Outdoors: Treat Street, with trunks set up with treats
🍦 Local vendors: Luna’s Ice Cream & Snack Attack

It’s FREE to attend for Ardenwald Elementary families, with optional extras available for purchase.

🙋 We still need YOU for Treat Street! Would your family like to set up a trunk, game, and treats for our Outdoor Treat Street? It’s a fun way to get in on the festivities and decorate your trunk for the kiddos! Comment below or send us a message to sign up.

Educators carry a lot, and this week is a rough one.

Our PTO set up a self-care station, restocked staff beverages, and hosted a support lunch to say thank you for everything Ardenwald staff do, this week and every week. Thank you to our community for helping make it happen! 💜

Our hearts are with Silver Rail Elementary and the Bend-La Pine community. 💛

If you’d like to do something to support community and healing, here are a few ways to help:

🥪 Ardenwald staff lunch, Wed 10/21: Our staff are supporting students through a hard week. We’re putting together a sandwich/salad bar to show our appreciation. Sign up to contribute via the link in our bio. Food drop-off by 9:30am at the Front Desk.

☕ Ardenwald Staff beverage restock: Coffee, tea, sparkling water, juice, energy drinks, and more are always appreciated. Drop them at the Front Desk during school hours this week.

💌 Cards for Silver Rail: The Silver Rail Elementary PTO shared that cards, messages, and drawings of support would be welcome. Check their IG post Silver Rail Elementary PTO for details.

💛 Silver Rail donations: The Silver Rail PTO is accepting donations at silverrailpto.org/donate.

A meal or a kind note won’t fix what happened, but it reminds us we look out for one another. 🫶

This weekend, we’re thinking of our community 💛

If you’d like an easy night, whether that’s a meal out with friends and family or dinner at home, our Chipotle dine-out is today from 4 to 8 pm at 15717 SE McLoughlin Blvd.

No pressure at all, but if it fits your evening, a portion of sales supports our school.

To make it count:

In person: show the flyer (on your phone is fine) or tell the cashier you’re supporting the Ardenwald fundraiser before you pay.

Online: Order for pickup only from 4-8pm with code 3VWVXH4 through the Chipotle website/app.

It’s National Custodian Day and today and we’re celebrating Stan, our head custodian here at Ardenwald. We surprised Stan this morning with some gift cards and a few of his favorite treats as a small token of our appreciation.

Stan, you’re the reason our school is clean, safe, and welcoming every single day. You’re up before the kids and you’re still taking care of things after we’ve all gone home. You’re also the friendly face who makes our students and staff feel at home.

Thank you for everything you do for our Ardenwald community. We’re so lucky to have you! 🙌

If you see Stan around campus, give him a high five and a big thank you!

Our first in-person PTO meeting of the year is Tuesday, October 13 at the 1847 Food Park in Downtown Milwaukie!

🍽️ Arrive at 5:30pm to grab dinner from the carts
🗓️ Meeting starts at 6:30pm (2nd floor)
🎨 Fall-themed art and activities for the kiddos
💬 We’ll cover our budget and goals, upcoming events, and brainstorm together on how to keep supporting our Title 1 school, staff, classrooms, and specials like library, health, PE, music, and art

Whether you’re a longtime PTO regular or brand new, you’re welcome and your ideas matter. Bring the whole family!
