After some discussions about laws I looked at the wording of the law, speaking with a cop and yes the laws are absurd but hey what's new, public safety intentions but revenue collection reality. Nothing new there.

What are some other historically silly laws to compare?

I had a resent discussion about raw milk and while yes, it is a bigger risk than pasteurized milk, the risk is significantly lower than you might think. I break down how to view a study using base knowledge vs how a study will look without base subject knowledge. Yes, there might be thousands of studies but how to interpret them correctly is the most important part.

I am not advocating for or against anything I mention, just using these subjects as examples because they are often used as "gotchas" or examples of something stupid, the studies do show exactly what you would expect but the reality of what they show isn't always as bad as we might think once comparative risk and a base understanding is used.
