That’s a cormorant — and no, it’s not working on its tan. These clever birds dive underwater to catch fish, and since their feathers aren’t fully waterproof, they perch with wings wide open to dry off in the sun. Stylish and functional.

Wildlife Wednesday: Watch for Terns! 🐦✨ Terns are some of the most graceful seabirds you’ll spot along Florida’s coastlines. These sleek, agile flyers are expert fishers — they hover high above the water before plunging down beak-first to sn**ch small fish right from the surface. Look for their sharp, pointed wings and forked tails as they dart and glide over the waves.

Fun fact: Many tern species migrate thousands of miles each year, traveling between nesting grounds and wintering spots — some flying all the way from the Arctic to South America! Keep an eye out during your next cruise or tiki tour and see if you can spot these incredible travelers in action.
