While clearing their yard in New Orleans, a Tulane anthropologist and her husband uncovered a 2,000-year-old Roman headstone buried beneath the grass. 🪦🌿

The stone, traced back to Italy and belonging to a soldier named Sextus Congenius Verus, was reported missing from a museum.

Experts are still investigating how it ended up thousands of miles away in Louisiana.
