When I say “you should travel more,” I’m not just talking about checking a destination off a list or getting the perfect photo.

What I really mean is:

Discover who you are- when no one is watching and the “noise” of home is gone.
See with your own eyes- the places you only ever saw in textbooks.
Be brave enough- to go alone and realize you are your own best company.
Stay curious- Ask how things are made, how they are eaten, and why things are the way they are.

My Do’s and Dont’s for spending money abroad!

📍 I prefer not to bring cash from the US. I don’t feel safe carrying a bunch with me and I don’t find the exchange is better than pulling from an ATM with my US debit card locally in destination.
📍For ATMs always use one from a local bank, not private ones like “Euronet” or other that don’t have a bank association. They charge INSANE exchange rates.
📍 Always select to be charged in the local currency (for ATM withdraws and credit card transactions) so that your using you banks exchange rate, not a made up one.
📍Typically there are two charges when withdrawing from an atm, your US Bank will have a standard charge and then the foreign bank will also have a charge (which it should tell you before pulling out the cash).
📍 Pro Tip: If you’re a frequent traveler or pull out cash multiple times like I do, I recommend a Charles Schwab bank account, which reimburses for foreign atm transaction fees! 🏦✨
