Currently, I have three 2027 trips open for enrollment:

?? Summer 2027: There is also the possibility of a GlobalOkie Travel “Mystery Trip”! 😳😳. That’s right… you won’t know where we’re going until just before you depart!! It’ll be reasonably priced, unique (not a common, touristy destination), involve local food, culture, and fun!! Let me know if this intrigues you!

Sometimes, someone else’s words are magical. Thanks, Regina Henry, for traveling with me regularly and giving voice to this incredible cultural experience. GlobalOkie Travel always tries to implement enriching, personal, cultural activities into itineraries - it’s hard to beat sharing a meal, music, and a few laughs with people who don’t share your language, religion, and lifestyle.

From GlobalOkie (frequent) Traveler, Regina Henry:

One of the true highlights of this journey was being welcomed into the home of a Berber family. Sharing a meal together reminded me that some of the most meaningful travel experiences happen around a table, where kindness, conversation, and culture are shared so generously.

Our meal featured freshly baked homemade bread served with tomatoes, tuna, onions, and delicious local cheese. We also enjoyed the fruits of the season—sweet watermelon and yellow melon, both incredibly fresh and flavorful.

An informal mint tea demonstration showed us the care and tradition behind Morocco's famous tea. Of course, tasting it was the best part!

Before we left, the family shared music and entertainment, with everyone joining in and sharing their talents. It was a joyful celebration that reflected the warmth, generosity, and rich traditions of Berber culture.

The afternoon brought back so many wonderful memories of the meals I shared with international students and scholars at Oklahoma State University. Experiences like these remind me that hospitality is a universal language. No matter where we come from, sharing food, stories, and laughter creates friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

GlobalOkie Travel Morocco trip 🇲🇦 🚐

This amazing trip is just over halfway complete, and it’s truly been absolutely incredible! My fellow GlobalOkie travelers are curious, adventurous, and a lot fun; the banter and stories on our cross country van drives just might be as wonderful as our stops! Our local guide and driver are unbelievable, Aissa and Said, are professional, fun, flexible, and patient - which they have to be because we stretch them on many occasions 🤣 🙏 With a varied itinerary, we are experiencing Morocco in a way a lot of travelers do not. I’m so thankful for culturally-curious participants, and a world full of wonderful people and incredible sights!

GlobalOkie Travel Morocco trip —
Wow! What an amazing first couple days!
After all meeting up in Casablanca, we enjoyed a wonderful Welcome Dinner of local cuisine and was introduced to our amazing local guide, Aissa.

Our first full day packed quite the adventure as we departed Casablanca (don’t worry, we return at the end!) and enjoyed getting to see the highlights of Rabat with a fantastic local Rabat guide Widad. We stoped at the Royal Palace and Administrative complex and got a run down of the structure and history of the Moroccan government, and then proceeded to the Hassan Tower (12th century minaret) and Mausoleum of Muhammad V.

A highlight of Rabat was walking through the ancient kasbah, which was heavily populated by many of the Moors fleeing Iberia during the Reconqista which concluded in 1492. The ancient walled neighborhood is filled now with bakeries, cafes, houses, gardens, and shops - including a cafe that was once a watering hole for the Barbary pirates. Cats and tourists now seem to be the main occupiers of the kasbah amongst the numerous amount of locals enjoying it alongside us!

After lunch along the Oued Bou Regreg (river) watching local kids hurl themselves off concrete ramparts into the water to join kayakers, fisherman, paddle boarders, and swimmers enjoying a respite from the Moroccan summer heat, we boarded our bus with our trusted driver, Said, and headed off across the countryside, past the farms and livestock, to the famous “Blue City” of Chefchaouen where Aissa guided us through the ancient blue alleyways for an orientation tour before we parted ways to enjoy dinner and vistas in the squares, balconies and rooftops.

Incredible introduction to an amazing country filled with warm people, amazing sights, and awesome food!

Enjoy the pictures - sorry there are so many, but they are worth sharing 😊🇲🇦

Still basking in the glow of a wonderful Tanzania trip, with an amazing group of adventurers!

But as always my mind wanders to my favorite country — the next one! 😂 I’m daydreaming about upcoming trips to Morocco, Vietnam, Australia, Congo, Antarctica/Argentina, and several to be determined!

There are only a few spaces left on the next four trips, so if you’d like to join me (and I’d love that!). Give the trip details a look at www.GlobalOkie.com and contact me as soon as possible. Let’s make exploring the world a priority over the coming months! 🤠🌎🌍🌏💫
