One of the greatest joys of being a travel advisor is helping people experience places that are meaningful to them.

When I was a teenager, I had the opportunity to explore Germany with my Lutheran youth group and it was an experience that left a lasting impression on me. Now, years later, it's been incredibly meaningful to help bring that same experience to others.

While this is a little different than my usual cruise content, this Journey Through Lutherland tour has become a true passion project over the past year, and we're looking for just a few more travelers to join us!

In April 2027, I'll be traveling alongside a group from St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville, as well as travelers from a few other Chicagoland ELCA churches, as we journey through Germany exploring the places where Martin Luther lived, taught, translated the New Testament, and sparked the Reformation.

Beyond the beautiful scenery and historic landmarks (because there will be plenty of those!), this journey invites you to connect with the people, places, and events that shaped the Lutheran faith.

Along the way we'll:
• Visit Wittenberg, where Luther posted the 95 Theses.
• Tour Wartburg Castle, where he translated the New Testament into German.
• Explore Erfurt, Worms, Leipzig, Berlin, Mainz, and other historic sites.
• Worship and reflect at some of the most significant sites of the Reformation.
• Learn from expert local guides who bring history to life.
• Enjoy quality hotels, many included meals, transportation throughout Germany, and airfare from Chicago.

The journey runs April 29th to May 6th, 2027, with the option to extend your travels before or after the tour if you'd like to explore more of Europe.

Cruising with a 16 or 17 year-old? 🚢 DO NOT get turned away at boarding! 🚨

If your teen doesn’t have a passport, a birth certificate alone stops working the second they turn 16. On closed-loop U.S. sailings, 16+ needs a government-issued photo ID too.

And watch out, paper driver’s permits will NOT cut it! ❌
