Here's something I wish more people considered when planning a Caribbean vacation.

Choosing the island matters just as much as choosing the resort.

Aruba and Saint Lucia are both beautiful Caribbean destinations, but they offer very different experiences.

Aruba is known for its generally dry climate, beautiful beaches, and an easygoing mix of resort time, restaurants, and island exploration.

Saint Lucia brings dramatic mountain scenery, lush landscapes, rainforest adventures, and resorts where the setting itself can be a major part of the experience.

Neither is better. They're simply different.

And that's why I don't start by asking which resort you like best. I want to know what you want your vacation to look like when you're actually there.

Some places don't get the memo that summer is over.

While we're pulling out sweaters and watching the leaves change, the Caribbean is still serving up turquoise water, sandy toes, and a very convincing reason to put the cold-weather wardrobe on hold.

October is a pretty good time to start thinking about your winter escape. Honeymoons, girlfriend getaways.... any reason to visit the Caribbean will do!

Whether you're dreaming of a few days doing absolutely nothing or a week of sunshine, good food, and ocean views, there's a Caribbean getaway with your name on it.

Your fall wardrobe is cute. But don't put up that swimsuit just yet!

There's an Italy that doesn't always make the first page of everyone's itinerary.

Let's talk about the whitewashed towns perched on hillsides, ancient olive trees, long lunches that turn into the afternoon, and little coastal towns where the harbor is still part of everyday life.

Welcome to Puglia.

This is where I'd send someone who has already dreamed about Italy but wants something a little different from the classic Rome, Florence, and Venice route.

Think wandering the streets of Ostuni, exploring the trulli houses of Alberobello, discovering the old town and harbor in Monopoli, or spending a few nights at a countryside masseria.

It isn't about finding a secret place nobody else knows about. Puglia is hardly a secret anymore. It's about discovering a different side of a country you thought you already knew.

I've spent enough time matching travelers with all-inclusive resorts to know they each have their own personality. So naturally, I decided to match them with dog breeds. Duh 😂

Some are the life of the pool party. Some expect a little luxury and personalized attention. And some have absolutely no intention of leaving their lounge chair unless there's food involved.

All-inclusive lovers, I need your verdict.

Which breed did I get right? Which one deserves a completely different personality? And what resort vibe did I leave off the list?

We’re not going straight to the ship. And there’s a good reason for that.

For our hosted Storybook Christmas, the adventure begins BEFORE we ever board our cruise.

No rushing off to the next destination. We’re spending two nights in Baden-Baden, Germany, because we want time to settle in, shake off the travel day, explore, shop, enjoy some good food, and experience the magic of a traditional German Christmas market.

Baden-Baden is known for its elegant architecture, beautiful surroundings, and festive Christmas market. It's the perfect place to slow down, get into the holiday spirit, and start making memories together.
