Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer — it’s a time to reflect with gratitude on those who gave everything in service to our country and the families who carry their legacy forward.

As we gather with loved ones, travel, and create memories this weekend, may we never forget the true meaning behind the day.

If you ask 10 people what their favorite color is, you’ll get 10 different answers for 10 different reasons. The same goes for travel. ✈️

It’s knowing which train tickets are worth upgrading and which aren’t.
Which Venice hotels have private docks. When a private transfer is worth every penny.
Which “perfect” itineraries are actually exhausting (and why).
Which locations only look convenient online.
Which reservations need to be locked in months ahead.

It’s the tiny details that can completely change a trip.

That knowledge didn’t come from TikTok or Google. It came from years of experience, education, firsthand travel, industry relationships, and investing my own time and money into learning what truly works.

This isn’t just a hobby for me.

This week I had the privilege of attending Elevate 2026 alongside some of the most incredible travel agency owners and advisors in the industry.

One of the things I value most about this profession is that the best advisors never stop learning. We invest in education, collaboration, relationships, and growth…not only for ourselves, but ultimately for the clients who trust us with their most important memories.

We share ideas. We ask hard questions. We learn from one another. We celebrate each other’s wins. In an industry that could feel competitive, I’m grateful to be surrounded by people who believe there is room for all of us to succeed together.

But one of the biggest reasons Erica and I attend events like this is to become better leaders for our own team. We are constantly investing our time, energy, resources, and knowledge into helping our advisors grow stronger businesses, serve their clients well, and build careers they are truly proud of.
