I said yes to planning one friend's Disney trip, then three more asked, and I still didn't see it coming.

It started with my own kids. I spent weeks researching their first Disney vacation, every detail planned down to the dining reservations and ride strategy. The trip was incredible, watching their faces light up at every turn.

Busy moms, if you're searching site after site for the lowest fare, you're looking in the wrong place. The better starting point is a clear comparison, not another attention-grabbing price.

I used to stay up way too late scrolling through resort options, convincing myself I had to pick the "perfect" one or the whole trip would fall apart.

Then I'd second-guess myself the next morning and start all over again.

Here's what I wish someone had told me back then: the best resort isn't the one with the most stars or the coolest pool. It's the one that matches how your family actually moves through a day.

If your kids need downtime between parks, a resort with great amenities and a slower pace makes sense. If you're park-open to park-close people, you just need a clean room and a comfortable bed.

Once I stopped trying to pick the "best" and started thinking about what actually creates that perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, everything got easier.
