This mornings 6hr trip aboard the Wild Orange! Them Red Snappers were on fire and so were our anglers. Unfortunately Mr. Marty got a little sea sickness so we came in a little early. He brought me a basket of hand picked strawberries from his house and some pickled okra he made. Man those things are good.

Today’s 6hr trip aboard the Wild Orange was a success! The weather was beautiful and the seas were calm. As for the fishing, well the trolling bite was on fire and the other fish not so much. We worked hard for what we caught and those mangrove snapper were all up in the water eating in our chum, but weren’t to interested in the ones with hooks buried in them. It was a fun time and this group had a blast. Next trip is June 1st, opening day of snapper season!

Today’s 6hr cut short due to Ralph. Most of the guys had a blast, including our jr angler Jace. It was his first trip out on the big water and he was quite nervous about it, I could see it in his eyes as we were leaving the slip. Needless to say it didn’t take long for him to get over that and he immediately fell in love with it. Any guesses on who our top angler was today?

Just in: NOAA Fisheries announced that the 2026 Gag recreational season in the Gulf will open September 1, 2026, and close at 12:01 am on October 1, 2026.

Yesterday afternoon’s 6hr trip aboard the Wild Orange! The bite was a little slow for the most part on the vermillion snapper, but we managed to bring home a decent mess of good table fair and these boys had a blast in the process. The amberjacks were on fire and so were the sharks. All in all it was a great trip! Today’s 12hr got turned around due to inclement weather
