🏝️ Another of my families just left Celebration Key yesterday — the biggest private island destination project Carnival has ever built, opened July 2025. 🚢

It's five distinct areas, and most people only ever see two:

🏰 Paradise Plaza — the hub, 10-story Suncastle, Junkanoo parade
👨‍👩‍👧 Starfish Lagoon — family side: shallow pool, splash pad, beach
🎉 Calypso Lagoon — live DJ, huge swim-up bar, high energy
🎨 Lokono Cove — Bahamian artists and local vendors
🥂 Pearl Cove — the upscale beach club (extra charge)

The thing worth knowing: Calypso used to be the adults-only lagoon. In September 2025 Carnival opened its daybeds to ages 13+, which makes Pearl Cove the only genuinely adults-only spot on the island now. 🍸

So the question isn't "is Pearl Cove worth it" — it's what kind of day you want. Calypso is a party. Pearl Cove is quiet. Neither is wrong. 😌

Walt famously said it was all started by a mouse - but before that it actually all started in a garage. This garage I visited in 2024.

🏠 101 years earlier in August **1923.** A 21-year-old with a failed studio behind him arrived in Los Angeles and moved in with his uncle Robert here on **Kingswell Avenue** in Los Feliz. 🧳

The arrangement: **$5 a week** for a place to sleep. Plus **another dollar a week** to use the shed out back as an animation studio. His own uncle charged him rent on the garage. 😄

That garage is where the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio began.

I walked this street in 2024. It's an ordinary residential block in Los Feliz — you'd drive right past it. There's no castle, no gate, no marquee. Just houses. 🌴

🔮✨ Ok DCL Stans... I have THOUGHTS about the Disney Believe coming late 2027!

My prediction: one of the MAIN dining rooms COULD / SHOULD be Encanto themed — hacienda courtyard, terracotta floors, tile walls, a center stage where Madrigal magic comes alive with folk dancers between courses. 🦋🌸
Pure speculation for now!

Confirmed so far: Moana statue in the Grand Hall, Woody & Buzz on the stern, Tinker Bell on the bow, plus returning adults-only dining favorites Palo, Enchanté, and The Rose. 🚢

🌿 First look at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge — and it's unlike anything else at Walt Disney World.

Opening July 1, 2027 on the shores of Bay Lake, this all-new Disney Resorts Collection hotel is built around the Disney stories set in nature — Bambi, Pocahontas, Encanto, Brother Bear, even Fantasia. Every room type has its own theme, right down to Grandmother Willow pillows in the Pocahontas-inspired Resort Studios and a butterfly mural in the Encanto Duo Studios.

A few things that stood out to me:
🌊 Lakeshore Lagoon — the feature pool, with a spiral waterslide
🛶 Daydream River — a lazy river winding through The Wetlands
💦 Moonglade Resturant — enjoy a meal made with seasonal and local ingredients at this restaurant overlooking Bay Lake.
🎆 Cypress Point & Dandelion Terrace — two spots built specifically for Magic Kingdom fireworks views
🚤 Water taxi straight to Magic Kingdom — no bus required

Booking opens in waves this fall: DVC Members Oct 6, Annual Passholders Oct 7, everyone else Oct 8 (2026).

And how do I know?

At 8:25am this morning I had an alert in my inbox from my own automated system to notify me the moment Disney Cruise Line or Walt Disney World releases new extended season dates or promos.

Immediately after, I sent quotes to several clients on my Holiday 2027 DCL waiting list!

Why it mattered I had this info so quickly for my clients?:

The Gideon's Bakehouse crew just went SAVORY 🐦‍⬛⚔️

You know them for the cookies — now meet Six Ravens, their first-ever savory concept, and it's a full medieval tavern hidden at Disney Springs.

Everything comes served in a "coffyn" (the original medieval word for hand pie 🤯). We tried:

🧀 The Moreish Monk — white cheddar, havarti & tomato jam sealed in a parmesan-smothered crust
🥔 Tell Tale Tatties — smashed potatoes with their Realm Famous honey mustard

The S⎯ & D⎯ families are setting sail for ALASKA this week on the Norwegian Encore. 🏔️

👀 That balcony? Yes that's a "Regular" cabin — but I booked them the back of the ship, on the right deck, where the balconies open up with huge wide-open water views. No upgrade fee. Just knowing these ships deck by deck.
