🥔🇬🇧 One of Universal’s best quick meals doesn’t come with fries.

When we think about quick-service food at Universal Orlando Resort, the usual suspects come to mind:

🍔 Burgers
🍕 Pizza
🥪 Sandwiches
🍗 Chicken tenders

And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with those!

But if you’re exploring the London area of Universal Studios Florida, we think London Taxi Hut’s Jacket Potatoes deserve some attention. 👀🥔

The Loaded Jacket Potato comes topped with:

🥓 Bacon
🧀 Cheese
🥛 Sour cream
🌿 Chives

But there are other options, too. We’d be tempted to try the Tuna Jacket Potato or the Cheese & Beans Jacket Potato. 😋

And we love the simplicity of this stop.

No table reservation.
No waiting for a server.
No lingering over a meal when your family is ready to keep exploring.

Just grab your food, find a shady spot, and enjoy a little people-watching while taking in the sights of London. 🇬🇧☀️

One strategy we’d definitely consider? Save it for after Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. 🧙‍♂️🎢

If someone in your group gets motion-sensitive, having a real meal waiting on the other side can be a much better plan than immediately jumping into another attraction.

Plus, you’re already right there in London, so it makes for an easy transition before heading back into Diagon Alley. ✨

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of those resorts that can make us wonder, “How is this a Deluxe Resort?” 😂

It’s often one of the more affordable options in Disney’s Deluxe Resort lineup, yet it gives you so much beyond a place to sleep.

✨ A breathtaking lobby
🦒 Animals roaming the savannas
🍽️ Some seriously impressive dining
🏊‍♀️ Beautiful pools
🎨 A full calendar of resort activities
🌿 Walking trails and quiet spaces to explore

Yes, a savanna-view room is pretty magical. Waking up with your morning coffee while watching animals wander by? Absolutely. ☕️🦓

But here’s the thing: you don’t have to book a savanna-view room to enjoy the magic.

There are viewing areas throughout the resort, along with outdoor spaces and huge windows that give you plenty of opportunities to stop and watch the animals.

And while Animal Kingdom Lodge feels wonderfully removed from the hustle and bustle, you’re still surprisingly close to the parks. 🚌✨

It’s roughly a 15–20 minute bus ride to Magic Kingdom and around 10–15 minutes to Hollywood Studios, depending on traffic and transportation conditions.

That balance is what makes this resort so appealing to us.

You can spend the day surrounded by the excitement of Walt Disney World and then come back to a resort that feels like a completely different world. 🌿🦒

For the right family, Animal Kingdom Lodge can be one of the best Deluxe Resort values on property.

🌴 Orlando in September: Lower crowds, BIG heat. 🥵

When we hear “lower crowds,” we usually think shorter wait times.

And yes…that’s definitely part of it. 🙌

But lower crowds can make a difference in so many other ways, too:

🍽️ Dining reservations can be easier to snag.

🎢 More attractions before lunch without feeling like you’re constantly standing in a line.

🚶‍♀️ Getting around the parks can feel much more manageable when the walkways aren’t packed.

📱 Mobile ordering can be a little less stressful when everyone isn’t trying to order at exactly the same time.

🌳 Finding a shady table for a break can be much easier.

⚡️ And depending on your priorities, you may find you don't need Lightning Lane quite as much as you would during a busier time of year.

So why doesn’t everyone just head to Orlando in September? 🤔

The weather. 🥵☀️

September in Orlando can be HOT, humid and downright exhausting. If working out in a sauna sounds like a vacation activity, you may be onto something. 😂

For those of us who have experienced it, the key is planning around the heat instead of pretending it isn’t there.

💧 Hydrate early and often
🧊 Pack cooling towels
🏨 Build in an afternoon resort break
❄️ Use those air-conditioned attractions strategically
🌅 Take advantage of the cooler mornings and evenings

Lower crowds are a great perk.

But September isn't automatically an easy month just because the parks are quieter. Good planning matters even more when the weather is working against you.

The days of standing in the Florida heat at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while everyone else rides are OVER. 🙌😂

Maybe you don’t like thrill rides. Maybe you’re traveling with little ones who aren’t tall enough yet. Or maybe you’re using Rider Switch.

Whatever the reason, your ride break can still be part of the fun. 💙

While the rest of your crew is yelling “Yeehaw!” 🤠 as they race through the Wild West, mosey on over to Critter Co-Op. It’s just steps away from Big Thunder Mountain and is a perfect little escape.

And be sure to look around while you’re there. The details are adorable!

We know everyone is excited to experience Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal Islands of Adventure. But Hogwarts Castle is one of those rare queues where we actually recommend skipping Express Pass if you have the time.

Why?

Because the queue is part of the experience. 🪄✨

You’re not simply walking through switchbacks waiting for your turn. You’re exploring Hogwarts!

Along the way, you’ll see:

📚 Dumbledore’s office
🪴 The greenhouse
🛡️ The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom
🎩 The Sorting Hat
🪞 The Mirror of Erised
🖼️ Moving portraits throughout the castle
🧙‍♂️ The Gryffindor common room
🧌 Even the troll security office!

There are so many details packed into the castle that Harry Potter fans will want to slow down and actually look around.

And here’s a helpful tip for families:

Someone doesn’t want to ride? They can still experience Hogwarts Castle. 🙌

Just let a Team Member know, and they can help your non-rider exit before you reach the ride.

As longtime Harry Potter fans, we can tell you that the ride itself is fantastic. ⚡️ But honestly, we’d hate for you to speed through one of the most detailed queues at Universal just to save a few minutes.

Yes, there are only two major attractions in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

But honestly? That’s not really the point. 👀

This land was designed to be explored. From the moment you step into Batuu, the goal is to make you feel like you’ve actually walked into the Star Wars universe. 🌌✨

So yes, absolutely ride:

🚀 Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
🛸 Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

But make sure you leave time to experience everything happening around them, too:

⚔️ Build your own lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop
🤖 Create your own droid at Droid Depot
🛍️ Explore the marketplace and unique shops
🥤 Try the famous blue or green milk
👀 Keep an eye out for Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren
🍹 Grab a drink at Oga’s Cantina
📸 Stop for a photo with the Millennium Falcon
📱 Use the Play Disney Parks DataPad to interact with the land

And please don’t rush through this one. 🙌

Look around. Listen to the sounds. Notice the details. Talk to the cast members. Explore the marketplace.

🦸‍♂️✨ Avengers Campus may be small, but it packs a LOT into one little corner of Disney California Adventure!

Right now, the land has just a couple of major attractions:

🕸️ WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
🚀 Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

But honestly, that’s not what makes Avengers Campus so much fun.

The real magic is happening all around you. 👀💥

You might spot Spider-Man flipping through the air! 🕷️
Captain America could be making an appearance. 🇺🇸
Iron Man may be out and about. 🤖
Black Panther might cross your path. 🐾
And you never quite know which Marvel hero you’ll encounter next!

It gives the whole land this constant feeling that something could happen at any moment. ⚡️

And then there’s Pym Test Kitchen! 🍔🔬

The food is just as playful as the land itself, with oversized and undersized creations inspired by Ant-Man and the Pym particles.

We’d be very tempted to try the Pym-ini sandwich because, well…when in Avengers Campus! 😂🥪

And if you’re a Marvel fan, this is definitely one area where we’d leave some room in the itinerary to simply wander around and take it all in.

There’s a lot more coming, too. 🦸‍♀️✨

With a new Iron Man attraction planned and additional expansion on the horizon, Avengers Campus is only getting bigger.

For now, though, we think the character encounters alone make this land worth exploring. 💥

🍔🍣 Have you ever noticed that the bigger the family, the harder it is to agree on dinner? 😂

One person wants burgers. 🍔
Someone else wants sushi. 🍣
And somebody is ordering chicken fingers no matter where you go. 😂🍗

Which one are you? 👀

That’s one reason we love The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar at Universal CityWalk.

It somehow brings those very different cravings together at the same table. 🙌

🍔 Burgers? Yep.
🍣 Sushi? Absolutely.
🍔🍣 Burgushi? You bet!

And for families with teenagers, this can be such a fun dinner choice. Nobody feels like they “lost” the dinner vote, and trying something as unique as Burgushi can turn dinner into part of the vacation experience. 😋✨

That’s what we look for when helping our clients plan.

Not just “Where can we eat?”

But…

“Where are we going to have one of those meals everyone remembers?” ❤️

Because sometimes the restaurant becomes part of the vacation story.

Years later, nobody may remember exactly what time they rode a certain attraction. But they might remember the night everyone tried something completely ridiculous together and laughed about it the whole way back to the hotel. 😂
