After miles of dirt, rocks, dust, and endless mountain roads, there was something special about riding across that bridge with the river flowing below.

For a moment, everything got quiet.
Just me, friends, my GS, the mountains, and the sound of the river.

The Lowdown:

Friday, September 18th: Arrive in the afternoon, set up camp, and hit the trails for a warm-up ride—or roll in early Saturday morning if that’s more your style. Catered dinner and Movie Night will feature one of the latest Backcountry Discovery Route films with Movies Theatre Snacks and refreshments
Saturday, September 19th: Kick off your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your adventures. Choose between exciting guided rides or venture out on your own with the routes we provide. Feeling competitive? Hone your skills at various trophy training spots across the property. Lunch is on your own, so explore the area’s local gems. After an action-packed day, return to camp for a delicious catered dinner and great conversation with your soon-to-be best riding buddies!
Sunday, September 20th: We’ll wrap up with a bang after breakfast with a brief . Depart with new friends, great memories, and a full heart.

Sierra Buttes Trail — Dry, Dusty, and Definitely Not Easy! 🏍️🔥

The dry conditions made the Sierra Buttes Trail much more challenging than expected.

The trail was covered with deep powdery dust, deep ruts, and plenty of exposed tree roots. The loose surface made it difficult to maintain traction, and stopping even for a moment made it surprisingly hard to get moving again.

This trip, my BMW GS was running Shinko 705 tires — 70% On-Road / 30% Off-Road.

They performed great on pavement and hard-packed dirt, but on this kind of deep, loose, dry terrain, I definitely felt their limitations.

A big adventure bike, loose powder, steep climbs, and a 70/30 tire combination…
That’s when you really have to work! 💪🏍️

But that’s what we ride for.

Challenge accepted. Adventure continues.

First time taking the Starlink Mini with me on an off-road adventure. 🏍️🏔️

Out in the middle of nowhere, far from cell service, having reliable internet made a huge difference.

It was more than just convenient — it gave me peace of mind and helped keep me connected while riding through some remote and challenging terrain.

The Starlink Mini is definitely coming with me on my next adventure! 🤙🔥

Top on the “Mount Patterson” Never Give Up

Last Friday, I left Phelan and headed out for an unforgettable adventure.

Yesterday afternoon, after tackling Section 6 — including the Hard Way and Expert sections — I finally wrapped up the ride.

This morning, I started the long journey home. After 12 hours of riding, I just arrived back home in Phelan a little while ago.

The heat today made the ride home anything but easy. 🥵🏍️
Now it’s time for a shower, a cold beer, and some well-deserved rest. 🍺

There are so many fun stories and unforgettable moments from this trip. I’ll share them all in future posts, along with plenty of photos and stories from the road.

The adventure may be over for now, but the memories will last a long time. 🤘🏍️💨

My buddy and I rode up to Verdi Peak Lookout as part of our California Northern BDR adventure.

I was riding my BMW GS 1250, while my friend was on a GS 1200. The climb was rocky and challenging, but we made it all the way to the top together.

Standing at the summit and taking in the incredible Sierra Nevada views made every mile worth it.

The best part of adventure riding isn’t just the road—it’s the friends you share it with. 🤙
