It gave us more usable space inside the stateroom, our toddler LOVED sitting by the window watching the ocean, and we could still open the window whenever we wanted that fresh air / traditional balcony feel.

A few things Iโ€™d want my clients to know before booking one, though:

The window is controlled by a button, so while our toddler couldnโ€™t reach it, a taller/older child certainly could. The window does lower slowly, but itโ€™s still something parents will want to be aware of.

And when the window is open, the A/C shuts off. Since there isnโ€™t a separate exterior balcony door, that warm, humid Caribbean air comes right into your room pretty quickly. ๐Ÿ˜…

For us, the pros absolutely outweighed the cons - but this is exactly why I donโ€™t think thereโ€™s one โ€œbestโ€ stateroom for everyone. Itโ€™s about matching the right room to the right family. โค๏ธ๐Ÿšข

We chose the latest disembarkation time possible from our Royal Caribbean cruiseโ€ฆ and we were STILL at MCO by 10 AM for a 4 PM flight. ๐Ÿซ 

Instead of spending six hours sitting at the airport with luggage & tired kids, we booked a day room at the ๐‡๐ฒ๐š๐ญ๐ญ ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ฒ ๐Ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐๐จ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ข๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ & it completely changed the game.
