PORTSMOUTH β€” Prescott Park Arts Festival is thrilled to announce that reservations are now opening for its 2026 signature musical production, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, presented by Service Credit Union (June 19 through Aug. 9), along with two additional concerts joining the The River House Restaurant Concert Series on the Wilcox Main Stage: Ralph Stanley II & the Clinch Mountain Boys on Wednesday, June 24, and The Devil Makes Three on Saturday, Aug. 29.

RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA
Presented by Service Credit Union

This beloved classic follows Ella, a young woman forced into servitude by her cruel stepmother, who dreams of a better life, and with the help of her Fairy Godmother, a pumpkin, and a little magic, finds it. Featuring the iconic songs "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible," and "Ten Minutes Ago," this enchanting production invites audiences of all ages to believe in the transformative power of kindness and to build a better, kinder world together.

This magical production will light up the Wilcox Main Stage most Thursdays through Sundays at 7 p.m. from June 19 through Aug. 9, with select matinee and American Sign Language (ASL)-supported performances available. Matinees will be on July 5 and July 25 at 1 p.m. American Sign Language-supported performances will be on Sunday, June 28; Thursday, July 9; Saturday, July 18, all at 7 pm; and the matinee on Saturday, July 25 at 1 p.m. Dates and times are subject to change.

"𝑻𝒉𝒆 π’Žπ’–π’”π’Šπ’„π’‚π’ π’Šπ’” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’ƒπ’‚π’„π’Œπ’ƒπ’π’π’† 𝒐𝒇 π’†π’—π’†π’“π’šπ’•π’‰π’Šπ’π’ˆ π’˜π’† 𝒅𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 π’”π’–π’Žπ’Žπ’†π’“," said Courtney Perkins, executive director of Prescott Park Arts Festival.

"Cinderella is going to create so much magic for families all summer long. There is nothing like watching a child experience live musical theatre for the first time, right here in the park under the open sky, and this production is going to be something truly special. And to pair that with the addition of Ralph Stanley II, a living bearer of one of the most important names in American bluegrass history, and The Devil Makes Three, one of the most electrifying live acts around, it is the kind of season we are so proud to bring to this community."

RALPH STANLEY II & THE CLINCH MOUNTAIN BOYS
Wednesday, June 24 | River House Concert Series
Ralph Stanley II honored his father's wishes by taking over the legendary Clinch Mountain Boys name following the passing of bluegrass icon Dr. Ralph Stanley, carrying forward one of the most storied traditions in American roots music.

A Grammy Award winner and two-time Grammy nominee, Ralph II is an accomplished songwriter with six solo albums and the highly acclaimed duet album with his father, Side by Side. With banjo, fiddle, upright bass, and Stanley's masterful guitar leading the way, this is old-time mountain bluegrass at its most authentic and powerful, a living link to the very origins of the form.

THE DEVIL MAKES THREE
Saturday, Aug. 29 | River House Concert Series
For over two decades, The Devil Makes Three has carved out a unique place in American roots music, blending folk, blues, and punk into something raw and unforgettable, known for their live performances that pull audiences into a rollicking, unrelenting groove with a punk spirit that refuses to be tamed.

The Santa Cruz trio is known for dark, literary music rooted in the troubadour traditions of wandering folk, Delta blues, whiskey-soaked ragtime, and reckless rock and roll, and their show is the kind of evening that ends with strangers dancing together in the dark. One of the most electrifying live acts in Americana, and a perfect way to close out August on the waterfront.

Reservations for Cinderella and both concerts open as follows:
Season Passholders β€” Thursday, June 4 at 10 a.m. (exclusive early access)
General Public β€” Tuesday, June 9 at 10 a.m.

In keeping with the Arts Festival's mission of accessibility, reservations are never required to attend any performance. All events are presented with no fixed admission, continuing the Festival's long-standing tradition of making the arts available to everyone. For those who wish to support the Festival, a recommended donation of $12 is encouraged for all performances of Cinderella and $20 for all concerts in the River House Restaurant Concert Series.

Audiences may enhance their experience by reserving premium seating options, including tables in The Kane Company VIP Seating Area, limited blanket reservations in front of the Wilcox Main Stage, and "The Best Seat in the House," a special section at the front of the VIP area available for reservation across all Festival series.

Prescott Park Arts Festival invites the community to bring a blanket, gather friends and family, and enjoy incredible music in the heart of Portsmouth, all while supporting the Festival's commitment to accessible arts programming for all.

Portsmouth’s Memorial Day Parade returns Monday, May 25 at 1 p.m. β€” and neighbors, families, and friends are encouraged to line the route and help honor those who gave their lives in service to our country and salute the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The City does not host a Memorial Day Parade every year, making this a special occasion for the community and visitors alike.

The Memorial Day & 250th Commemorative Parade begins at the Richards Ave/Parrott Ave intersection, travels to South Cemetery for a wreath-laying ceremony at Logan’s Orders Monument, and continues out of the cemetery to South Street and turns right toward Junkins Ave. The parade will turn down Junkins Ave and end at South Mill Pond.

Residents along the route are invited to wave flags, and join Portsmouth in commemorating Memorial Day and America’s 250th anniversary.
