The quality of a bathroom renovation is often found in the tile work. For this shower floor, we installed a marble herringbone pattern that requires a lot of patience to get right. Each piece has to be cut and aligned perfectly to make sure the pattern stays consistent across the entire slope toward the drain. It is a slow process but that level of precision is what makes the finished space stand out.

We paired the patterned floor with large blue wall tiles to create a clean and classic contrast. These finishing touches are the final step in a year-long rebuild that started at the foundation. Taking the time to handle these details correctly ensures the home feels polished and holds its value for the long term.

This project involved a complete rethinking of how the house moves and breathes. By opening up the center of the structure, we created a clear line of sight through multiple levels. The combination of the wood-burning stove and the cable rail system shows off the mix of traditional comfort and modern structural work. It gives the house a solid anchor while keeping the transition between floors feeling light and airy.

The dark herringbone wood ceiling adds another layer of detail that helps define the seating area from the rest of the open floor plan. Rebuilding from the foundation up allowed us to integrate these heavy features like the stone hearth and central flue with total precision. Every element was chosen to create a space that feels intentional and built to last in a coastal environment.

A kitchen needs to be beautiful but it also has to be a workspace. For this project, we focused on creating deep counters and a wide island to give the homeowners plenty of room for prep work. We paired the clean white Shaker cabinets with a durable dark countertop along the perimeter and a lighter stone for the island. This creates a nice visual contrast while ensuring the surfaces can handle daily use.

Also, the large windows bring in tons of natural light and help the whole space feel connected to the coastal landscape. It’s a solid example of how we combine high-level design with real-world functionality.

This extensive Little Compton renovation presented a unique opportunity to redefine a coastal home, focusing on long-term value and livability for the owners. The project involved taking the structure down to its foundation, allowing for a complete rethinking of the space and its flow. Collaborating with Christopher Hall Architects, Inc. out of Boston, we ensured the final design optimized the coastal setting and met stringent structural and aesthetic standards. The intentional, year-long process was dedicated to precision, guaranteeing that this significant investment delivered a home that perfectly suited the homeowners' refined vision.

Inside, the finished details ensure everyday luxury and enduring quality. The living areas are composed for comfort and style, featuring custom touches like the intricate herringbone wood ceiling and integrated lighting, adding unique warmth above the main gathering spaces. Functionality is paramount in the kitchen, where Shaker cabinetry and durable, high-end materials create a timeless aesthetic that will perform beautifully for years. Throughout the home, design elements like the sleek cable rail system and the stone-clad hearth around the wood stove demonstrate an emphasis on robust, yet beautiful, modern craftsmanship.

This down-to-foundation remodel ultimately delivered a composed residence that offers the homeowners complete peace of mind. By managing the complexities of a total transformation, PJR Construction ensured that the collaborative design was executed flawlessly, resulting in a home built to withstand the coastal environment while providing an exceptional backdrop for life. This project stands as an example of how a focus on structural integrity and meticulous finishing details translates directly into the long-term enjoyment and value of your home.

This project on Monkey Wrench Lane in Bristol, RI is a great example of a space that feels classic, comfortable and finished.

The focus here was on the custom built-in shelving. It frames the brick fireplace well and gives the homeowners a dedicated spot to display their books and art.
Simple, functional design executed with the right details makes a big difference in how a room feels.

Here’s a look at the journey for our project on Cornelius Dr. in Portsmouth, RI. You can see how the space went from raw framing to a bright, open Great Room.

The goal was to maximize the natural light and create a sense of volume with those high ceilings and the second-floor balcony overlook. We paired that open feel with detailed millwork and paneling to ground the space.

It takes a lot of planning to get from the skeleton of a house to a finish like this, but the result speaks for itself.

One of the biggest worries homeowners have during a project is simply not knowing what’s happening. We make sure that isn't an issue by using the JobTread Software client portal. It gives you a window into the job site, even if you can't be there in person. You can log in anytime to see photos and notes from the day.

It’s all about transparency, we want you to feel just as confident in the process as you are in the final result.

This home in the Chase Point neighborhood of Little Compton, RI is a good example of classic coastal design. The focus was on making the most of the location. The exterior features traditional cedar shingles and wrap-around decks on both levels to capture the views. We even included that coastal must-have: a custom outdoor shower.

Inside, we kept things bright and open with wide-plank wood floors and a custom kitchen and dining room designed for entertaining. It’s a home built to fit right into this beautiful coastal community.
