Lady Bug Stables training facility is run by trainer Jessica O’Donnell. Amenities include large indoor with mirrors and large outdoor riding arena, stalls cleaned and bedded daily. Water inside and out done daily. Quality second cut Canadian hay fed four times a day. All day turnout cleaned daily. Hot water wash stall, heated bathroom and tack room. Almost three years ago Katie Hammond sent me her beautiful mare Guusje.. She found her the year prior and imported her in foal. After having her beautiful 1e filly Zoey she came to me to start her journey.

I remember Katie saying I really like this one and think she is special. I quickly understood why 🥰 as we call her in the barn Goose was getting ready for her first keuring and IBOP in the US in 2024. I can say we were delighted when she scored a 78.5 and was upgraded to 1e. She was Mare Champion and Champion of the day that year!

We then took her in 2025 for hopefully a Kroon upgrade and she didn’t disappoint. Becoming Kroon 👑 and was Reserve Champion mare and Reserve Champion of the day.

Starting our 2026 season we had our goal set for Sport. She now only needs three more scores hopefully achieving it this year. In all of her dressage training she kept getting strong and looking so mature like a Model mare! I told Katie let’s try for Model.. We believed she had what it took…

So last week we went to the 2026 NEFHC keuring. She walking into that arena with that look at ME attitude that we love. Her trot was powerful and she just looked amazing. At the end when they awarded her Champion of the mares and Champion of the day I was ecstatic! Then judge Jolanda Slootjes said it. This is now a MODEL mare!!!! 🥲 I think her owner Katie and I are still in such shock! I am so incredibly proud of this mare!! Goose you did it!!!!

Super excited to have two beautiful and talented Friesian mares started under saddle!! Tillie owned by and Zoey owned by Starting babies has always been something that I enjoy! It’s a trust the process kinda thing and giving them the time they need and a strong foundation is the key to success.. I am not sure how many babies we have started together but I have to say a BIG thank you and shout out to Maggie for being my ground person. It’s the best feeling knowing that the horses I have in training trust her and are handled by her on a regular basis. Thank you for all your help on training days and in the basic care. It takes a village and a great team. ❤️ I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for these two beautiful mares.
